Medicare For All

Anything short of that is meaningless.

In case anyone hasn’t already seen it, there’s an online petition to restore the public option here.

No public option puts it at odds with me, that’s for sure. Dangitalltohell!!!

I think there’s a possibility that the Democrats WON’T use reconciliation. This, in that I don’t think that they’re necessarily going to want to own (solely) something that could potentially stink to the rafters. Of course, on the other hand, if they end up not passing anything…..

I’m one of the Dems at odds with my President… I’m all for the Senators forcing reconciliation on the public option …. it does not include taxing the rich to pay for anything… heck, I’m with TC. I think most of the suggestive bill is good. It does NOT include the PO. And that is a terrible turn of events! It was when it happened the first time! 🙁 Stimpson perfectly resolves my thoughts….:-)

I quite agree. I think. Unless I become rich one day of course.

The public get an option over there?

Good grief. I thought democracy was dead…or at least extremely unwell….

OK, I’ve been read the complete summary, and I like most of what I see. The Stupak stupidity is out. The back room deals for Nebraska and other states are out. The excise tax on so called Cadillac is delayed and the threshold raised. Government will have the authority to regulate rate increases.

I would still prefer taxing the rich to that excise tax. The BIG problem is that the public option is missing.

er…sorry Stimpson old bean…I thought we all bought insurance from crooks…even here in England.

You buy insurance, you claim and they say ‘The small print’ and you pay again.

That is the way insurance works.

I think…..

Have I missed my forte in life?

I should have been a crook!…;-)

4D, I don’t buy health insurance from crooks.

I don’t know what you Brits have to go through, but we in Canada are don’t claim for doctor visits or surgery and get told the small print absolves the insurer (government over here) from payment.

Seriously, without a public option Obama’s “health-care reform” will still, bottom line, amount to forcing people to buy insurance from crooks. And that’s unacceptable.

Gene Hackman in Unforgiven: “Hell, I even thought I was dead ’til I found out it was just that I was in Nebraska.” 🙂

Have they got more sick people in Nebraska?

Depends how you define “sick”.

I’m sure the place is completely bereft of Yorkshire puddings.

er….Nebraska? Have they got more sick people in Nebraska? Perhaps someone misread Great Plains as Great Pains and thought they all needed extra walking sticks….

I can’t watch the video where I am now, but based on another source, Obama’s plan doesn’t include a public option. Does that put him at odds with Franken? We don’t need divided efforts right now.
