Urge Discovery to Think Again: Sign the Petition to stop Palin’s TV Show

The once venerable Discovery Channel has called Sarah Palin “Alaska’s proudest daughter,” and they are planning on airing an 8 part series called Sarah Palin’s Alaska.
Defenders of Wildlife and others are urging responsible Americans to SIGN THE PETITION to encourage the Discovery/Learning Channel to dump this hypocrisy. During her short time as governor she managed to enact legislation that to this day authorizes and encourages the aerial slaughter of Alaska’s magnificent wolves. She even offered a bounty to anyone bringing in the forepaws of these noble yet persecuted creatures. In addition she wanted polar bears and Cook Inlet beluga whales removed from the endangered species list. This woman is against everything the Discovery Channel has always stood for…..SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP HER NOW!

While I think that Sarah Palin certainly has the characteristics to make a fool of herself, one should never underestimate the stupidity of the American TV viewer. Look at how long Paris Hilton lasted. That Paris show peaked out then fell flat after a couple of seasons. Having Sarah on TV runs the risk of the same thing. Peaking out about the same time she gets back into politics.
I am still amazed at Discovery having this show! I used to have the opinion that Discovery was slightly above the other channel’s tripe.

Discovery will listen to ad $ and ratings …. but if the petition brings in respectable #’s … they might choose again. I signed it. I’ve emailed the links.

If Palin’s Alaska show manages to negotiate the moral minefield and make it on air, there is a very good chance she will make a complete fool of herself, history dictates my assumption.
If left to her own devices I would agree Holte, but she will no doubt have some experienced directors running the show.
