Zombie Rednecks..or is the South rising again??

Read Time:2 Minute, 39 Second

Now before we dismiss the title as just some cheap way to grab readers, (it is by the way), let us just look at the evidence that shows it has gone full circle and the signs indicate that we are clearly at the verge of the Teabag Apocalypse.

Barack Obama is a Democrat and Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.

Barack Obama has often quoted Abraham Lincoln as his inspiration and favorite president.

Both Obama and Lincoln were elected in a dark political climate and started their job with lots of problems waiting for them on day one.

Abraham Lincoln, a white president, was at violent odds with his political opponents because of racism. Barack Obama, a black president, is at violent odds with his political opponents because of racism, although they will never admit as such.

Exactly 150 years ago, in the presidential election of 1860, the Republican Party, led by Abraham Lincoln, had campaigned against the expansion of slavery. The Republican victory in that election resulted in seven Southern states declaring their secession from the Union because they would not allow any interference from the Federal Government of their right to own slaves.

One of the major issues of today’s lunatic fringe is that the Health Care Reform will produce the equivalent of  “slaves”.  Today, 13 States have enacted “State Sovereignty” laws for the purpose of telling the Federal government that they cannot force them to buy health care and to do so would in effect “make them into slaves”. Several resolutions have been brought out forcing the Attorney Generals of States to Sue the Federal Government.

There was a group of Democrats in the North during Lincoln’s time, named the Copperhead Democrats, who were opposed to Lincoln’s policies after his Proclamation Declaration. Because of their extremist viewpoints, they were also called “Butternuts” because of the color of the Confederate uniforms.

The Lawyer during his very “emotional” viewing of Glenn Beck for a week, referred to Glenn as Glenn “Butternuts” Beck.

Abraham Lincoln signed the Proclamation Declaration on the 22nd day of the month. Barack Obama signed the Health Care reform on the 22nd of the month.

The Radical Republicans, an abolitionist faction of the Republican Party, during Lincoln’s term criticized him for moving too slowly in abolishing slavery. Even with these opponents, Lincoln successfully rallied public opinion through his rhetoric and speeches. His Gettysburg Address (1863) became an iconic symbol of the nation’s duty.

Some of todays Democratic party criticized Obama for not having enough in the Health Care reform, such as the “Public Option”. Obama successfully rallied public opinion through his skill at rhetoric and speeches.

A lot of southerners joined the Confederate army during the civil war who were ignorant, uneducated, spending the day listening to the frogs croak. Looking at the signs and speeches given by the Teabaggers today clearly shows that they are also ignorant, uneducated, spending the day listening to Rush and Beck.

Of course, these facts are nothing but coincidences that don’t really mean anything.  The possibility of an uprising in America today over legal passage of health reform is just crazy talk right? ..(cue spooky music here)….or is it??

What a bunch of self-absorbed jerks. I’ve lived both in the north and south and I’ve seen far more racists up north.

I look at it this way. Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, of course, because really, southern rednecks are too fucking lazy to wage a war now, the south did rise again.

They’re pretty much in a similar state as they were in 1861. Low education, moneyed interests/landholders who won’t want to go to war themselves, lots of poor white people (since the southern red states are about the poorest of the states) as cannon fodder, but they won’t want to fight because they might miss NASCAR next Sunday, blacks won’t fight and for good reason, duh, and…do they even have any munitions factories? Either way, it would just turn out like the first one did, only it would be over in a week, as soon as the lazy rednecks got tired of camping it.

Funny Bee! They would have to miss NASCAR but they may be willing to pass that up. But don’t mention the munitions thing because they would have a couple of big ones…Pantex (nukes) and the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.

I can see them all now advancing their militias on ATV’s, sporting five inches of plumber’s crack and waving a little confederate flag with their AK under a sweaty armpit. “It’s ok honey, we’ll be home in time for Nascar!” *shudder*

Some eerie coincidences mentioned in your post, but nothing compares the coincidences between Lincoln and JFK.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946

Lincoln failed to win the Vice Presidential nomination in 1856.
Kennedy failed to win the Vice Presidential nomination in 1956.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Lincoln defeated Stephen Douglas who was born in 1813.
Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon who was born in 1913.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost children while in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Lincoln’s secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy’s secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners.

Both Presidents had Vice Presidents named Johnson.

Lincoln’s Vice President was called Andrew Johnson who served in the House of Representatives in 1847.
Kennedy’s Vice President was called Lyndon Johnson who served in the House of Representatives in1947.

Both successors (their Vice Presidents) were named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1838. (not 1839)!
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by the three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Lincoln was shot at the theatre called “Ford.”
Kennedy was shot in a car named “Lincoln”, made by Ford.

Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

Holte, I had read that before and that is a little strange. My post is just a bunch of stupid little coincidences leading to the question that seems to be in the news today. Just how crazy are those Teabaggers,OathKeepers, etc? Everyday seems to expand the boundaries of what they are capable of.
