Pretty much not safe to be a little boy anywhere these days. Back in the fifties (1950′s or 1850′s) we seemed to be a lot safer.

I was an altar boy. I served mass for many priests, many churches, all times of day. No one ever messed with me.

If anything, it sounds like they’ve been moving backward — some of the medieval authorities recommended prosecution, but the more recent trend has been towards hiding the crimes from the secular authorities.
Based on the accent, I’m assuming this video is from Britain. Europe is more culturally secular than the US and is a lot less timid about attacking religion — see for example these German magazine covers.

It’s an excellent video! I would suggest that ‘the church’ draws these pedophile personalities within it as a ‘safe harbor’ for their criminality. Also, I don’t think it should go unmentioned that there is perhaps a pattern of priests abusing and the abused becoming priest abusers. That is a standard pattern.
