Now for a Moment of “Squee!”
Miniature horses are pretty freaking adorable. Mini-minis are “squeeworthy!”
Friday in Barnstead, New Hampshire, a tiny stallion named “Einstein” was born weighing just 6 pounds. That is three pounds under the current Guinness Record holder for bitty widdle horses! He wasn’t premature or even afflicted with dwarfism. He is just really, really tiny. He is only 14 inches tall! SQUEE! Tiny stallion
The photo above is Einstein with Garrett Mullin, a four-year-old boy.

We just can’t help messing with Mother Nature.
It’s probably due to the fluoride in their drinking water. I don’t think this happened accidentally – probably did breed down as MH suggests. But there’s already one in the GBR. We do have the “little people.” Science is not absolute.
You just put the biggest grin on my face with the smallest horse I’ve ever seen! Absolutely beautiful!!!! (Can I have one?)
What a strange site, a 6lb foal, I hope it doesn’t become a trend, horses are far more than a curiosity.
Since horses are “working” animals (as opposed to “companion” animals- dogs being an example of both) I don’t understand the urge to breed them down into uselessness. Unless you think being continually distracted by the cuteness in your backyard or pasture is useful!
I wonder if there is any scientific or chemical reason why this happened. While it is a cute horse, does it suggest a growing danger that we should be aware of? My train of thought is, there may be some ingested or injected substance that may be having an adverse affect. Sometimes symptoms show up in animals who have a lower threshold for resistance to certain chemical threats, than humans who are slowly evolving to be more resistant to toxicity than the animal population. If the mother is being fed with our tap water, which sometimes contains more than 15 prescription drugs in it, that may very well be the source of the chemical poisoning.
I love horses – any size but have to admit never this teeny. Used to have ’em. Wonder if I could keep one in my apartment!
