The President and the Prayer Breakfast

Read Time:32 Second

This is not the original rant.  I deleted that because it was petty and mean spirited.  I understand that the Easter prayer breakfast is a tradition and I do like that the president has introduced many different cultures to the White House rituals.  I am just troubled by the presence of so much religion in government.  Quite frankly when we said goodbye to Dubya I was hopeful we were saying good-bye to God in the White House, but apparently not.  I am sorry that your comments had to go when I dumped the original post.  I didn’t mean to do that.

I appreciate your patience.

Better pot than both for me 🙂 No visions, wait..what are we talking about again? If you look into the Faith based money, it is more prevalent today with PO then with commander cuckoo bananas. I thought that whole separation thing was supposed to stop that. Whonu it doesn’t.

Peyote. It is all about the visions of the world beyond the world we never see.

Better God than Allah I’d say.

Allah is just an Arabic way of saying God, the very same God that Christians and Jews follow, the desert God, The God of Abraham.

This is true. Christian Arabs use the word Allah to refer to the Christian God. I’ve seen Christian religious materials printed in Arabic and they always use the word Allah for the Christian God. It’s no different than Dieu in French, Gott in German, etc.

“Allah akbar” means “God is great” in Arabic. It’s a Muslim expression.

Christian literature in Arabic calls Jesus “Ibn Allah” (“Son of God”) — same word, same God, different religion.

Muslims who speak languages other than Arabic have different words for “God”, just as Christians who speak different languages have different words.

He should have invited Wright, Farrakhan, Robertson, Warren Jeffs, Fred Phelps, Anjem Choudary, Shoko Asahara, Rousas Rushdoony, Cardinal Law, Marcel Maciel, and Osama bin Laden — a good ecumenical mix of fine, upstanding, moral religious leaders.

As long as religious zealots vote in droves politicos will have to pander to them. On the other hand, it would be funny if Obama had Pat Robertson seated between Rev. Wright and a Muslim holy man.

You have to make the most of what the situation presents.
