U.S. Navy to Recruit Women for Submarine Duty – Navy Wives Worried
The Navy is finally integrating submarines. Recruiting for an initial 19 female officers is underway and starting late next year or early 2012, women will be serving alongside men. One Navy rep admitted the change was “probably overdue” and downplayed concerns over having women aboard. “The change to the culture on the submarines is going to be pretty minimal,” he tells the Christian Science Monitor.
Adding female officers first avoids more complicated problems of separating bunks and bathrooms for enlisted men and women, who make up 90% of a sub’s crew, the AP points out, adding that the most vocal opposition comes from military wives. “There’s a lot of Navy wives worried about their husbands cheating,” one submariner tells the AP. “I’ve told them not to worry.”

I think it is a bad idea to have women on board a sub, alongside men. If the navy wants to have women on a sub they should just make a sub crew consisting of all women.
I’m inclined to agree with that. Close quarters, men and women, together, dangerous mix.
So that explains why so many Navy wives are suddenly enlisting, and requesting sub duty.

C’mon guys. This is serious and you make a sexist spectacle of it. The sight of a woman in uniform. Standing up straight. Chest thrown out. Firm calves. Skirt wrapped tightly around her wll trained gluteus maximus. Saluting the flag.
It makes me proud to be an American.

What is all that white stuff spraying around the submarine in the picture? Perhaps the existing crew members are getting a little too excited about this.
And what’s that firm looking object bursting forth.
There’s got to be some way of putting those Navy wives’ minds at ease. All-gay submarine crews?
