Big Bull Batters Matador – Gores Throat

Bullfighting is a brutal “sport,” every bit as barbaric as dog fighting. At least with bulls, they have the chance to kill their tormentors before they themselves are killed. I have no sympathy for the matadors. They chose to do what they do. My sympathies lie with the bulls.
Tell me what you think and please save the comparions to what may be happening in America; the chickens, the pigs the greyhounds and etc. I condemn it all. Tell me what you think about bullfighting. Here is the story:
A Spanish matador was struggling to recover today after suffering horrific injuries when a bull’s horn entered his throat and exited his mouth. The half-ton bull caught Julio Aparicio under the chin when the matador lost his balance and stumbled while executing a pass in Madrid. Aparicio, 41, was tossed into the air and landed on the sand of the bullring, spurting blood. Surgeons worked for 6 hours to reconstruct his throat, jaw, tongue and the roof of his mouth. He’s out of critical danger and is conscious, reports the Telegraph.
“It was a serious goring. Almost his entire mouth was destroyed. It’s too early to talk of recovery, ” said Aparicio’s father. The matador comes from a famous bullfighting family, and was a major draw to the San Isidro bullfighting festival where the injury occurred. A photo of the goring ignited a furious debate in Spain, where some protested that it was too graphic, while others deemed it a powerful argument to end the sport.

I don’t know how they can call it a sport, it’s like fox-hunting or badger-baiting. In a sporting contest before the event, the outcome is in doubt. The bull or the fox rarely get away with their life.
Too romanticized to be considered for a Darwin Award, but it should be. Hardee har har, dumbass.
It is but another way that humans have misused their ability to dominate the earth and ultimately destroy it.
A long reply, but this post reminds me of a joke:
After a bullfight this guy eats at the restaurant adjacent. He sees one honored guest receiving a covered dish with two savory gravy basted and very large meatballs. Trying to order the same thing, he is told that, since it is the testicles of the bull felled in the fight, it is only served once a day, and he must make an advance reservations for the “special”.
He makes a reservation for the following week, and eagerly skips the fight in order that he may be seated early. Finally his dish arrives, and when he removes the cover he finds two tiny, pale, unappetizing walnut-sized lumps on the plate.
“What is this? I ordered the special! This isn’t the special!”
“Oh Senor- but it is the special. Today the bull won.”
I can’t stand bullfighting. It is worse than rodeos, which I am also no fan of. Or circuses. Animals are not here to amuse us- especially if that amusement is obtained through torture.

I don’t see it as anything but animal cruelty. For me it’s in the category of dog,cock or even exotic fighting of animals.

They probably killed the Bull anyway but Perhaps they didn’t torture the poor creature to death.
