Crazy Limbaugh Says Oil Spill Work of Hard-Core Environmentalist Whackos

Read Time:1 Minute, 51 Second

Leave it to Rush Limbaugh to use what could possibly be the most alarming environmentalist disaster in history, for which no one has been blamed, to rail against “hard-core environmentalist whackos” and their deviant attempts to prevent oil spills. While few will be surprised that the Gulf of Mexico oil spill hasn’t converted Limbaugh into a card-carrying Sierra Club member, probably fewer still were expecting him to blame environmentalists for the disaster.

From the April 29 edition of his radio program:

“…lest we forget, the carbon tax bill — Cap and Trade — that was scheduled to be announced on Earth Day. Then it was postponed, a couple of days later… what better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plans, than by blowing up a rig? I’m just noting the timing, here.”

Limbaugh is suggesting that the environmental left staged the spill to promote a nuclear agenda and the passing of Cap and Trade. At least he acknowledges he has no proof: he’s just “noting the timing.” Those on the left are already comparing the comments to those of 9/11 truthers, and the clip (below) is making the internet rounds rather quickly. If Limbaugh’s goal was to generate buzz around himself again, he did a great job.

Which leads to the possible reasoning behind this kind of comment. Perhaps Limbaugh does legitimately believe that the Obama administration is ruthless enough to destroy the economy of the state of Louisiana if it means passing Cap and Trade. Maybe they just really hate Bobby Jindal. But the reality of American right-wing infotainment is that the conspiracy theory competition out there is getting increasingly cutthroat. Anyone who caught last night’s episode of Glenn Beck and tried to follow his Goldman Sachs/Emerald Cities/SEIU/AFL-CIO/Apollo Alliance/Obama “Crime Inc.” presentation is well aware of that. And Limbaugh has been struggling to enhance his message to stay relevant; his recent scandalous comments show he hasn’t been on his top game lately. His shock value fleeting, he could have chosen to go to the oldest trick in the book: taking a completely apolitical problem and linking it to political enemy, somehow.

Unbelievable disaster! I don’t even want to view any media at all right now…..when the worst of this hits, it will be not just an American disaster but as Gwen said, a Planet Earth disaster!

But I can see one point that 4D is making, if a disaster is man-made and nothing is done to correct the problem, what is all the ranting and grief going to do? Forcing change in what is allowed is the only answer.

Our policy of letting companies put at risk something that isn’t theirs and is the GREATEST IRREPLACEABLE TREASURE that our generation can give to the next, has to change!!

…head briefly appears over the parapet….is it safe yet?

I’m a staunch enviromentalist Gwen. That’s why I hate all this ‘Oh My God’ crap when man made disaster strikes.

We do it then say ‘Isn’t it awful’…meanwhile birds and fish and animals and various innocent life forms die.

I hate us when this shit happens. More than usual.

I’ve never been called ‘pompous’ before. Makes me feel like Royalty…;-)

Feel free to keep the change!
I get it… about being pissed off and frustrated at what humanity has brought about…
it’s about making the opposition flow or change for the better and cleaning up Home.
…..This could very well end up affecting our children’s children. That is not an American disaster… this is a planet Earth disaster,
as have been all of them.
Fuck big corporate devourers for their waste. Done. Shutting up now.

…er….can I stick my head back up yet?

I have no idea what dillitance is….

I’ll settle for ‘ouch’..Oi! Gwen! No kidney punching!

…and the best of British sorting it all out.

Just make sure the wildlife is ok….ok? Animals didn’t do this, we did.

Atrophied? Oh eck…..

It’s just that….well….oh alright….sometimes, as much as the Brits love the Yanks it sometimes seems that a disaster over there (and it is a disaster by any standards) means more than a disaster anywhere else.

Oh shut up Dinners. Quit while you’re behind….

LOL
I called you a dilettante and I don’t take it back.

As you can see 4D, I feel very strongly. The issue has been something I’ve advocated / environmentalism / for 30 years.
🙂

I’m according Mike’s sentiments here 4D.
How dare you bray pompous with your dilettance about a catastrophe that will affect not just America, but the whole of the planet’s eco-systems and vitality? How dare you? I don’t mean to be polite nor to excuse your unthoughtout words a bit.
Neither do I mean to start a war of words.
I feel it’s wrong of you and I mean for you to understand me fully.
I disagree to fullest with your ideals. It is precisely the undervalue of ANY LIFE including humanity that has wrought this kind of environmental abuse and social ignorance. Bullocks to you! And your atrophied heart. Shame on you.

Mike, you may not approve of your writers engaging so personally without disclaimer. If you do, I don’t know what to say except I’ll catch the black ball. I don’t mean to be mean or nasty. I am telling a truth from my opinion… it’s what a blogger does.??? Since 4D has seen fit to splash this onto the commentary… that’s how I’ve addressed.

No disrespect to my fellow team mates.
Peace.

I hate to burst your bubble America. This enviromental disaster is indeed a bad one but – it really isn’t the worst the world has seen. As far as enviromental disasters go you’re amateurs.

Britain and many bits of the planet have had way worse and sorted it without all this ridiculous melodrama.

Good grief! Get a grip!

Nov ’84 in Bhopal springs to mind

Chernobyl? Remember them?

Seveso in Italy in ’76?

December 1952 in London? 12,000 people died due to the London smog. Mainly young and old.

You’ve a bit of oil heading your way.

Oh no! This is America! Disaster!

Sorry. Tragic for seabirds and sea life (and you should be spending millions on saving them by the way as, actually, they’re far more important than you and your ever so nice beaches….they are actually living creatures) but you lot?

In the nicest possible way, bollocks.

You have no idea.

‘Oh my little bay near my home will get clogged with horrible oil’

Life? Get one.

Save the wildlife. Clean them up and release them. THEY are important, you are not.

You are human and humans fucked up again.

No sympathy. Save the one’s who count. The sea birds and the fish.

They don’t fuck up the world.

End of rant.

That fact that Limbaugh is blaming environmental activists for the leakage, proves it was Cheney and Haliburton, because they never take responsibility for anything.

Color me shocked that old Lush Rimjob is blaming the DFHs for this. Krugman said they would do this at the very first sign of oil leaking. This way they can deflect the real reason it happened. Did you guys know Halliburton was somehow invilved with cement for this particular oil rig? No, neither did I. They also don’t have to have some kind of safety acoustic switch that is mandated world wide. Nope, not here, with the good old oil boys that just 2 yrs ago left the WH. Apparently some of this deregulation was part of Darth Cheney’s secret energy task force. I forget which show I was watching the other day, but the guy was an attorney and was going after BP for this spill and had all the goods on the story.
Oh and Lush Rimjob has an open invite to kiss my narrow ass. I hate the guy and I don’t hate very many people.

=^..^=

LOL. He might take you up on the invite…you never know. I did not know that about Haliburton. Very interesting.

When Fat Boy’s mouth isn’t moving to spew out trash he is stuffing it with food. Let’s all get together and send piggy some ham sandwiches, fries, and anything else that will keep his jaws busy. Hopefully one day he will choke on something he ate and leave us alone……………..One less piece of crap around to pollute the earth.

There are a lot of people trying to make political hay over this disaster. Limbaugh I would agree, though, is probably the most blatant of the bunch. And obviously he’s a huckster, too.

If not for exploitation of worst situations surrounding us, where would this asswipe be?

I would expect nothing less of fatboy. He’s very predictable.

He is such an idiot that he doesn’t even know the mind of his enemy- or he would know that no environmentalist (at least none I know) thinks that nuclear power is a great idea. What an ass-clown.
