Dick Dale and The Deltones – Misirlou from 1963
Dick Dale, along with his Deltones, made the tune Misirlou famous in the 1963 movie “A Swinging Affair” which you can tell from the video that’s exactly what it was.
Dick Dale has been called the King of Surf Music and the father of Heavy Metal. His insistence on playing very loud guitar music was not the norm in 1963.
MMA will NOT offer a trip to Hawaii if you can name the movies this tune has been associated with.
