Catholics Say NO to Children of Lesbian Couple

Read Time:1 Minute, 55 Second

The Catholic church never gives up on discriminating and condemning those who are not in line with their antiquated and often barbaric practices.  Their relentless persecution of Gays is not the least of their hate filled rhetoric but it is one of the top ten.  Read this disturbing story from USA Today:

The archbishop of Denver on Tuesday defended a decision by a Catholic school not to allow two children to continue as students because their parents are a lesbian couple.

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput said it was a “painful situation,” but the decision by Sacred Heart of Jesus parish school in Boulder was in line with church teachings.

Chaput said the school told the parents that one of the children could complete kindergarten and the other could complete preschool, but neither could continue after that.

Previous reports indicated only one child was involved. Neither the parents nor the children have been identified.

Mindy Barton, legal director of the GLBT Community Center in Denver, which supports gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, said she believes the school was within its legal rights.

Barton has said the center would still investigate to determine whether the school violated any discrimination laws.

About two dozen protesters stood outside Sacred Heart of Jesus church on Sunday with signs, one reading “God loves all people.”

In his written statement Tuesday, Chaput said the parents of Catholic school students are expected to agree with church beliefs, including those forbidding sex between anyone other than married, heterosexual couples.

“The church cannot change these teachings because, in the faith of Catholics, they are the teachings of Jesus Christ,” he said.

Chaput said Catholic schools work as religious partners with parents, but that doesn’t work if the parents don’t respect church beliefs or openly reject them. He said that also puts unfair stress on the children and their teachers.

Chaput acknowledged that many Catholic schools accept students from other faiths and from single-parent families, but he said their parents are expected to support the Catholic mission of the school.

He said the church doesn’t believe God has any less love for the children of gays and lesbians than for other children, or that gays and lesbians are bad people.

J Depp? Arrg that be nice matey. Lol.
I just don’t understand women with the courage to embrace their ‘different’ love for the world to behold would be thinking about enrolling their children in a school ultimately overseen by pedersts. Don’t take me wrong, they should have the choice! But it’s a confusion to me.

Anybody who sends their kid to Catholic school with all the pedophile priests running around should be locked up for child endangerment.

Oh, by the way, the evil twin said she would like to go burn that church to the ground. Maybe even after hours, when no one is there.

I really like that evil twin! I’ll provide the the AC/DC cd for Jess to play in the getaway vehicle and buy drinks for all afterward.

Of course I’ll be seeing Hail Mary’s for the Twin’s safety-got to cover all the bases.

The evil twin likes a nice shot of Jack occasionally. 5 or 6, and she really goes on a tear.

I’ll be there with 8 or 12 just to be on the safe side. With enough shots I go from passing for George Clooney to dead ringer for Johnny Depp.

The thing about gay couples having kids, whether through adoption, surrogacy or artificial insemination is this: Those kids are wanted. Truly, honestly wanted. Those kids grow up with people who truly wanted them, and didn’t just have an accident. That can make all the difference.

I have ZERO beef with gay couples wanting to adopt or have children any other way.

Well looky here what Jess found. Not really found, my aunts, lovingly referred to as the two old goats, who just happen to be lesbians sent me this. Kids that are from lesbian parented homes are well adjusted. Who would have thunk that hmm?

Old men in dresses talking about what works and what does not sexually has to take the cake. Hey no wiggle room on gay marriage, birth control or abortion. PLENTY of wiggle room when it comes to some of them molesting children. That’s yer values folks, right there.

mmmmmm…Dinners on thin ice? No change there. The Catholics are wrong in only one way. Don’t visit the ‘sins’ on the children – and no, I ain’t religious….when I say ‘sins’ I’m being metaphorical….I think.

Gay couples should not be allowed to adopt children. That’s my view.

Yes, they can offer love and such but, gay couples are not normality.

Why?

If all the world was gay (it would conceivably be a more peaceful place) we would be extinct.

Gay is not and cannot be ‘the norm’ or we cease to be.

That is not to say ‘gay’ is evil and all the shit religion pushes it’s way. Of course it isn’t. I have gay mates and they’re cool with my views…even agree mainly.

Peeps are born ‘straight’, ‘bi’ or ‘gay’. It isn’t a choice. It’s what they are.

However. To have ‘kids’ you are at least ‘Bi’. If you’re ‘gay’ you aren’t having kids whether you’re male or female. Not in any ‘natural’ sense anyroad.

I do have a problem with gay ‘couples’ adopting kids – not a major problem as any loving family is better than no loving family but, the natural order – not in my view incidentally – is a ‘mum’ and a ‘dad’.

Would I have a problem if a male or female gay couple adopted some kid living in shit in South America or Africa? No not really.

It shouldn’t need to be though.

Kids need a female and male influence to grow up as balanced kids – and yes I know! There are already exceptions out there – but political correctness needs to chill a bit.

I’m not anti-gay couples adopting kids….I’m just worried the kids, much loved or not, will be influenced to be what they aren’t.

Maybe I’m just turning into an old fart….;-)

Man marries woman, get’s laid, has kids.

Boring maybe…but normal.

Mind you…having been adopted by a nice little man and a demented woman maybe I’d have been better off with a couple of poofs?

What the hell? If the kids are happy and safe I suppose it’ll do.

What couple/family anymore is normality? I can’t think of any that I know 4d.

I have an aunt that married her wife 2008, when California was allowing marriage equality**. I have been around these women as a couple for about 17 yrs I think, maybe a little less/more, since the ‘rental units adopted me. They really are no different than my parent’s were in their committed relationship. They love each other, want to be together and loved/ love me if I was their own kid. I have never once thought about being with a woman, the same way I am with a man after being around them constantly. It’s like you said, you are born this that or the other way. I honestly can’t see depriving kids of a family, because the norm is heterosexual, that is just me though.

I have to ask out of curiosity though, why would it be okay to adopt from a poverty stricken country but not somewhere else for you?

**I don’t call it same sex marriage anymore, after hubby’s grammy talking about “honey after you have been married as long as I have it is ALL the same sex”.

If people are unable to choose their sexual orientation (being born gay, as you say) what difference should it make if both parents are gay? Surely you aren’t suggesting that the parents would determine the child’s sexuality for them, or influence it somehow? If that were possible, I am pretty certain that all those fundie nutbags with gay kids wouldn’t have gay kids- the would’ve found a way to “cure” them or do an intervention before the flaming really began.

I used to think it was doing an unkindness to kids for gay couples to adopt, because I know how the child will be discriminated against (much like interracial kids). But rather than deprive a child of a loving home, raise him to be well adjusted and loved despite the environment of non-acceptance. After all it is society and intolerance that are the bad guys here.

There are too many unloved, unwanted kids in the world to deprive any adoptive parent with (non pedophiliac) love to give.
