Diego Maradona – Artist at Work

Read Time:41 Second

Diego Armando Maradona (born 30 October 1960 in Lanús, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine former football player and the current manager of the Argentine national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best football players of all time. He finished first in an internet vote for the FIFA Player of the Century award, and he shared the award with Pelé.

Watch the video of Maradona doing his warm up. Notice his shoe laces are not tied and also how much he enjoys what he is doing. We should all love what we do as much as he did. The video was shot in the late 1980s, before his life, like other great artists in many fields of endeavor, was overtaken by substance abuse.

I really should hate the son of a bitch after his ‘hand of God’ goal in 90 but…..you can’t help but admire him.

Cocaine, a gastric band fitted to stop him eating himself to death, left Italy shortly ahead of drugs charges….

Argentina barely qualified for the World Cup but now?

They are the team to beat and Maradonna is their coach and they clearly adore him – his bizarre and often manic behaviour from the coaches dugout simply enhances his status.

A flawed genius as a player – a flawed genius as a coach?

If Argentina win The World Cup his statue in Buenos Aires is assured.
