I intend to shut myself off from the murky world of politics throughout the world. Frankly, politicians depress me as a breed.
They are all, eventually, scum sucking crapheads.
Some, at the moment, such as ‘Call me Dave’ Cameron and ‘Little Cleggy’ over here, The Prez over there, and one or three others are still maintaining an air of decency, respectability and honesty.
On form, this situation will not last. As the relatively newly elected still attempt to believe in their dreams of a ‘fairer society’ and a ‘fairer world’, eventually the penny will drop.
“Hey! We have absolute power! I’ve just realised! Right. What’s really in it for me?”
They all do you know. About the only exception that readily springs to mind is your own dear best pal of Bonzo. The one and only Mr Ronnie Regan.
By all means correct me if I’m wrong but he always left me with the feeling that he didn’t have a bad breath in his body.
Precisely what he had going on in his head was frequently a mystery but, he is the only politician in my 50 odd years on this planet, who made me feel he was truly and consistently and genuinely a decent man.
Certainly Cameron and The Prez are at the moment but will it last? Not a snowballs chance in hell if you ask me – which you didn’t but when did that ever stop me eh?
Take South Africa for example? Please? Someone take South Africa somewhere away from me…
Now Rhodesia became Zimbabwe. They went from one silly name to another. No harm done. Then this odd looking black chap called Mugabe got himself elected into a dictatorship, grew a bizarre and hilarious Hitler like moustache and never looked back from causing mass murder and mayhem.
South Africa are a bit better off than that admitedly. The Nelson Mandella spirit still hovers in the background keeping all the nutters in check – up to a point, but –
The current Prez over there has 3 wives.
Excuse me? One more and he’d be getting nagged in quadrophonic sound and he’s fit to run a country?
And lets not even bother with the European lot. German and French Presidents waffling gibberish – well alright, they’re talking in German and French but it amounts to the same thing – well it probably would if I had any idea what they’re saying.
Lovely country Germany but, sadly, full of Germans…and as for the French…how can eating horses, snails and bits of frogs make for a sensible country with an even vaguely sensible Prez?
There was a time when I seriously worried about my sanity and stability.
I have finally realised. I’m not mad it’s everyone else.
I’m not paranoid – they are out to get me.
I’m not a drunk I’m a human being who cares about humanity and animals and the planet in general.
It’s a worrying though I’d say when World President Dinners starts to sound a better prospect than what we have now.
I’m not a meglomaniac, I just know I’m always right!…
Besides, even with a North England accent I make more sense than any politician.

Anyroad, apart from The Ramones who make far more sense than any poitician who has ever drawn breath, I leave you with them and Maximus Spittimus. He is one of my cats and would make a great leader. If nothing else, he’d make sure your oil devastated fishermen were ok….I’ve already translated his ‘meows’ concerning the oil spill…”BP??? Nuke ’em!”…see…when you need a leader up steps a cat. Couldn’t do a worse job than a human I reckon…

Old Zombie Reagan is the architect of the current shitpile we are all dealing with worldwide. Had it not been for that old bastard, deregulation and de unionizing(is that a word?) would not have been the norm. Reagan is the guy that tossed mentally ill people out on their ears here in California. Did nothing for AIDS when it was first on the scene. I hope, if there is a hell, he is in the circle of it he deserves to be in.
Oh, don’t get me wrong, he is revered by the right as the end all and be all of everything, but he was just a…I can’t think of anything nice, so I am going to do what the ‘rental units said and this one time tell you, the weather here is great wish you were here.

He put the crazies out on the streets in every state. My inner conspiracy theorist thinks that was done with a political purpose in mind, it being calculated that there was a good chance that if they got outside they might stumble into a voting station and vote Republican. Zing!
I did not know that, about the other states, I really thought it was just here when he was governor. I only knew about CA, because dad was part of a group of pro bono attorneys from all he told me, that tried to get some things done for the mentally ill here. Hey it seems the repubs have a lot of low info to no info people, that keep voting them in already, those mentally ill folks don’t need that stigma attached to them. That is the ONE thing the ‘rental units told me, Jess you can do and be anything you want, but if you come home and think you may be republican, we will seriously have to rethink our parenting skills.
It was known as mainstreaming. The least violent/non-violent of the mentally ill in state or VA institutions would be released onto the street, good luck to ya, buddy, etc. etc. etc. Some of them are still out there. Probably a lot of them are still out there, homeless, no treatment.
Yes the number of downtown LA “street corner shouters” picked up radically when Ronnie became governor. An ACTOR as governor! Good thing THAT never happened again.

I actually hate him more then W. Hate is such a strong word, in this case well deserved.
Yeah, Reagan started the whole deregulate, small government, screw the poor and amen ball rolling that just went flat for us. Not a lot of love for Grandpa Ronnie here.
