More of That Good Ole Christian Hypocrisy!

My main complaint with the Hard Right Christians is their hypocrisy. They go to church, carry bibles around with them, and are always praying to Jesus for something or other. The fact is, however, that hypocrisy knows no bounds. This little cartoon is a perfect example of what I mean:

Now as a ‘fag’ over here is a cigarette, I presume God is part of the anti-smoking lobby?

You can hardly call the individuals in your pictures Christians. They are West Boro, and they are world known for being insane hate mongers. That and their church is only about 30 members strong…
They are no more a religion than Scientology in my mind, and I’m an atheist.

They actually follow the bible closer than most christians. So to imply they aren’t christian is very incorrect.
Can’t argue with it Mike. The Hard Right evangelicals are as narrow-minded about religion as they are about everything else. Gives the tolerant Christians a bad name, and makes us embarrassed by their stubborn and stupid hypocrisy.
My parents in law are and my ‘rental units were very devoted Christians, as is my other half. I don’t think I ever heard the ‘rental units get down on anyone for not believing the same way they did. Hell they raised an atheist with nary(another smitey word) an eyebrow raised about it. I have found that I know more about the Bible, and living a sound moral life, than the fire breathing talibangelicals I come across in different venues.

The cartoon certainly does reflect experience — which is why I refuse to respect any religion. There’s a difference between disrespecting ideas and disrespecting the individuals who are under the sway of those ideas.
Not to nit-pick, but atheism isn’t a “faith”. Faith means belief unsupported by evidence, while atheism doesn’t imply any particular belief at all — it just means the absence of a certain belief, namely the belief in a deity.
Mike, thank you for specifying ‘hard right’. We soft left Christians honor the atheist faith. 😉
I need to put that in all my Christian posts and keep forgetting. I have nothing against your basic Christians who go to church and mind their own business. Everything I write on this subject is directed at the Hard Right Christian. Thanks for reminding me Tom.
