What do you do when the kids won’t behave?
We know, or at least should know, that parenting carries awesome responsibilities. Some criminologists claim that parenting determines the behavior of a child. They posit that children who are raised in families that are seriously dysfunctional may end up being delinquents. Personally I believe there are any number of variables, such as peers, schools, environment and other factors, not just parenting.
That being said the system of rewards and punishment is important. Some children are more difficult to control than others. While many parents utilize corporal punishment, others will lecture or deprive the child of something they like. The problem is what do they do when these things don’t work?
Many thanks to my friend Bill for the picture.
