The World’s Easiest Quiz

There is a well-known myth about the word “quiz”, which says that in 1791 a Dublin theater owner named James Daly made a bet that he could introduce a word into the language within twenty-four hours.
He then went out and hired a group of street urchins to write the word “quiz”, which was a nonsense word, on walls around the city of Dublin. Within a day, the word was common currency and had acquired a meaning (since no one knew what it meant, everyone thought it was some sort of test) and Daly had some extra cash in his pocket. However, there is no evidence to support the story, and the term was already in use before the alleged bet in 1791
So, as we come to the end of the first half of 2010, it must be time for The World’s Easiest Quiz. It is such an easy quiz that even people who don’t know what the word quiz means, should score at least 3 out of 10.

Interesting note…you cannot put the number 8 with a right closing parenthesis. It automatically makes it a smiley face with sunglasses.

When I read it, I knew a non obvious answer was the correct one, but not what that answer was?
I knew the animal related ones but that was all. Cat gut, purple finches and canary islands. No surprise there.
I need to go back to school. The only ones I knew were 1, 3, and 10! Great little quiz.
