Hilarious video about Smartphone mania
A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic ‘feature phone’. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated within a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME or BREW, a smartphone allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers.
Growth in demand for advanced mobile devices boasting powerful processors, abundant memory, larger screens and open operating systems has outpaced the rest of the mobile phone market for several years. According to a study by ComScore, in 2010 over 45.5 million people in the United States owned smartphones and it is the fastest growing segment of the mobile phone market, which comprised 234 million subscribers in the United States.

T-Mobile rang me. “You are due an upgrade”
“Jolly good. Send me a new phone then”
“This mobile” they said, “can access the internet, send and receive e-mails, send and receive and take photo’s, update websites, play over 1000 songs and make you a cup of tea in the morning”
..well…ok, maybe the cup of tea wasn’t in there.
“Can I make and receive phone calls on it?”
“Of course but it can do so much more!” they insisted
“It’s a telephone” I said, “I want a phone I can ring people on and they can ring me on. End of”
“You’re nuts” said the T-Mobile lady and hung up.
Welcome to Dinners in the 21st Century.
I got one a week ago. can barely make phone calls on it. A struggle not to throw it against the wall every effing day.only paid 9.99 for it but in a contract.
My daughters both love theirs however.
My wife just got a Droid, she doesn’t know how she survived without it. I got my first cell phone a couple of months ago, her cast off of course, I am smarter than my phone and I like it that way.
