LaHaye – Obama will bring apocalypse

Did you know socialism is a leading cause of biblical annihilation? Neither did we, but then, we’re not Tim LaHaye, the novelist who wrote a whole pile of books about the end times.
In this clip from a recent episode of Mike Huckabee’s show, spotted by the Huffington Post, LaHaye declares that Obama’s “raw socialism” is “going to work against our country and bring us closer to the apocalypse.”
Huckabee didn’t even blink at that assessment. Instead he asked, without even smiling a little, “Are we now living in the end times?” LaHaye replied, “Very definitely, governor.”

Fuck these goddamn clowns. I’ve been promised an apocalypse for years and where is it? That’s right, nowhere to be found! I want my many-headed, fire-breathing monsters! Hmph!

But seriously, while my idea of the Apocalypse is a way-over-financed-cinematic Lovecraftian disaster;
A Black man as President is the apocalypse -if you happen to be a bigot, or a rich prick, or Healthcare insurer pining for the freewheeling days of a year and a half ago.
Hooray for the apocalypse then.

Not to sound like a broken record – because I know I’ve said this before here, more than once – but it is my heartfelt wish that right-wingnuts like LaHaye would take a course (at a real, accredited college or university) in political philosophy. There, if they kept their brains in gear, they would learn that Obama and his appointees are definitely NOT socialist. As a social democrat and poli sci grad myself, I can state with certainty that there is NOTHING socialist about the Obama administration.
Sorry, but the misuse and abuse of the term socialism is a pet peeve of mine.

I would say some of O’s people aren’t even slightly left of centre.
Biblical scholarship has stood for the proposition that Jesus was an “ends times” fire and brimstone preacher. Later revisions made him more of the loving universalist we think of now. You wonder what has made people through out history regard their time as the last. Call a psychologist!
Hey Mike, Getting the idea from your Musical Day recently which was great and hopefully we will keep, I was thinking we might have a few weekly staples… or rather daily staples like, Funny Mondays to bring in the new week with a smile, Terrible Tuesdays, Wacky Wednesdays, Truth Thursdays…religion and the like…Freedom Fridays!, the week is over, stuff like that. What say you?
Tee I had considered doing something like that but it is a matter of time for me meaning I don’t have enough :-):-) It takes a long time to find information exclusive to a certain subject and I still have to find news of the day. I will give it some more thought and maybe we can have a conversation about it. We will be keeping Musical Saturday. It seems to have been a big “hit” no pun intended 🙂 Thanks for your interest Tee.
