Obama’s future much sunnier after the summer

Read Time:41 Second

This summer has been perfectly miserable for President Obama, but Charles Blow sees brighter days ahead. Yes, the November elections will be painful, too, but once they pass the president will receive a “magnificent gift”—Republicans will actually have to stop talking and pick a candidate to challenge him in 2012. “The very thought of Newt and Sarah squaring off thrills me to no end,” he writes in the New York Times.

If not one of them, then the “bungling Bobby Jindal,” the “devastingly boring Mitt Romney,” Mike Huckabee (who reminds Blow of Floyd the Barber from the Andy Griffith Show), or Michael Steele (“if there is a God”). It’s sure to be great fun. “When this sideshow begins, Obama will be able to pass the popcorn and enjoy the frostiness. The summer will be a distant memory.”

Obama hasn’t done as well as I hoped, but not as bad as the Republicans and their friends say he has, he has had to battle both sides of the house since the general election.

I can’t say he’s done much wrong…but I can’t say he’s done much yet.

Ok guy but needs to get his finger out and DO something.

Well…maybe he has but nothing that’s registered globally that’s for sure.

Ok guys are ok but if they’re the Prez they need to get up and go make a name for themselves….hopefully not a Nixon name obviously…;-)

Considering the platter of shit he was handed at inauguration, I think he has done all right. His big mistake was trying the “reach across the aisle” trick instead of pushing real reform through while the Democrats still had a majority in both houses.

If he was more seasoned as a politician, he might have realized that his idealism was going to delay things and make it too difficult to do real work later on. I don’t believe for a minute that his heart isn’t in the right place, but the results for the people are still the same. Whether you are being ass-raped by a big blue dildo with a sentimental saying printed on it, or a big red dildo with a crusaders cross engraved on it you are still being ass raped!

Why continue to support Wall St and war? You can vote Democrat and keep the wars and bailouts going, or you can vote Republican and keep the wars and bailouts going.

We needed healthcare reform and financial reform-we got neither. We need to cut DoD spending-Obama increased it.

Where is the progress? Please don’t claim Obama did anything-he hasn’t done jack shit other than bail out the health insurance industry and let his advisers gut financial reform.Read the fine print.Look at the legislation.I have. We got sold a bill of goods.Read the amendments and look at what Geithner and Summers said in their policy speeches.

Bush waged criminal wars and supported Wall St at the expense of Main St-it would be hypocrisy to tolerate the same policy under Obama.

Only losers will be the American people, who have the choice of either A)no change or B)no change.

In addition to being an adroit politician who knows how to speak to a crowd, Obama is an intellectual giant compared to anyone I can imagine the Republicans putting up against him. It will be fun (and very aggravating on some levels) to watch.
