The Ghetto Economist loves Dylan Ratigan-but in a platonic way.

Read Time:44 Second

I fully understand opposition to raising taxes on principle. However when principle becomes stupidity I must object. Rep Kevin Brady (R) of Texas opposes extending unemployment benefits yet supported the Bank Bailouts. He also believes taxing the bonuses paid to bankers from taxpayer bailout money is wrong. The congressman believes we need to CUT jobs in the public sector and somehow create them in the private sector. Just how a deeply indebted private sector will create jobs without consumer demand or fiscal stimulus is not something he chooses to address. He also wants to narrow the federal budget deficit while simultaneously growing it by cutting federal jobs ( cut govt jobs=less tax revenue + more federal funds going for unemployment insurance to those whose jobs were cut = bigger deficit).

Dylan attempts to explain this to the congressman representing Bizarro World.

Gwen, you and the other girl have a good back and forth repartee team thing going on. Very Nice!

Lewis and Martin, Carson and McMahon, Abbott and Costello, Jekyll and Hyde. Well, maybe not so much the last one.

You were both such great guests! My sincerest thanks. Please come onboard again soon!

I’ve received a few emails from friends today who’ve discovered Mad Mikes’ because of the show last night… that’s cool, huh? Good to know it provides exposure!

Krell this is great!

Bernanke and Greenspan the Dynamic Duo,
Ran the economy with nary a clue-o

They bailed and they tarped and liquidity trapped,
Ben should have been kicked,Alan should have been slapped

and yet the short one reconfirmed, this sad fact gives no pleasure,
The tall one? He wrote a book, and whores it for good measure.

Are they evil? Are they mean, these men without a clue?

The answers in the Bible, “They know not what they do”.

Good one!

And might I congratulate you on your radio program last night.

Mother Hen and I were discussing your voice and discussions last night and you came across as very wise and insightful.

And for her, that is quite the compliment. I myself have only worked up to the level of “Well maybe and occasionally not rolling her eyes in disapproval”

Thanks man, and thanks to MH! I’m well-acquainted with the “eye roll” tactic. Daughters excel at that when they first learn to drive and you keep reminding them to buckle up.

Oh poet...Krell

Leverages, Hedges, Bailouts for all
Business is big but people are small
Wall Street screws us without even a date
People lose jobs uncertain their fate

Tarp got created to give some relief
At least that seems to be the common belief
But somehow all the assets got quickly defined
So the ones with mortgages were left behind

But lucky for us economic reform is near.
New rules brought down for Wall Street to fear
Washington has ruled.Let’s clear up the muck
But what eventually got passed….what the fuck??

stupid….defined. yes. really Oso! I usually think Dylan is a bit ‘over the top’ … go figure? eh? But of late, he captures my interest. I think I remember Mike liking this guy a lot!

I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am. With the emphasis on I doubt

You think you are thinking therefore you are possibly….

I work at a municiple water treatment plant. Or do I? Shit Oso. I wonder if my job exists now? Do I exist? I think, therefore I am. Right?

Damn you Ghetto Economist! Now I’ll be up all night thinking about whether or not I am thinking.

Randal absolutely right. They may last 30 years but still not real jobs-cause govt is the enemy!

Everyone knows the public sector can’t create jobs. It’s in the constitution. Sexy invisible hand, save us!
