American Airlines: Who killed the puppies?
American Airlines says seven puppies died after being put on a jet from Tulsa to Chicago. The airline says it contacted the shipper who put the puppies on the morning flight yesterday and is investigating further. The shipper put 14 puppies aboard Flight 851 scheduled to leave Tulsa at 6:30am. It was delayed an hour by weather conditions in Chicago.
An airlines spokeswoman says baggage handlers taking the puppies to a kennel area at O’Hare grew concerned because they looked lethargic. Workers tried to cool them down and eventually brought them to a vet’s office. Five of the pups died initially and two later.

Having worked, until recently, in airline cargo I’m not in the least surprised. Sadly.
At least most of those 6% *won’t* grow up to be serial killers. Probably.
This sickens me especially. Krell works in Tulsa. Yesterday the heat index there was 115 degrees, the hottest day we have had all year.
Oklahoma recently legislated against puppy farms (a big problem here) but obviously someone didn’t get the memo. Only a callous puppy farmer would treat his dogs like so much baggage in a shipping container, rather than flying them in the cabin for extra cost.
6% hilarious? Seriously? That 6% doesn’t pass the “Right to live” test of basic humanity IMHO.
Many airlines no longer allow animals to be flown in the cabin. If they do the costs are roughly $100 per critter with each critter required to have their own cage that will fit under the seat. I hate flying and I hate airlines.
