It’s Lisa Simpson’s Wedding Day!

Read Time:36 Second

We all know yesterday was Wedding Day for Bill and Hillary Clinton’s daughter. The Clinton-Mezvinsky wedding was heralded a great event for humankind, in newspapers and newscasts all over the world.

But did you know today is Wedding Day for an even better-known pop-culture icon? A yellow, precocious girl we’ve seen not grow up before our eyes on TV?

I say “not grow up” because she’s a toon, and toons don’t age.

In a March 1995 episode of The Simpsons titled (duh!) “Lisa’s Wedding,” this very date is the day Homer and Marge’s middle child ties the knot with a guy named Hugh.

Many thanks to Geekosystem.com for relaying this information from a site called Funnybin.

I have been over at Fark and there are people actually thinking she is getting married because of this invite. *sheesh* do they not know this is from an old episode or what? Love the Simpsons, I have grown up with them.

My favorite Moe response to Bart’s prank calls:

You little S.O.B.! When I find out who you are, I’m going to shove a sausage down your throat and stick starving dogs in your butt!
