Michael Lucarelli Plays Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven
Since a few of us seem to be in a classical mood today, I couldn’t resist posting this little gem.

Great stuff, never heard it before…but liked it.
This right here, this is my FAVORITE, favorite piece of music to play, listen to whatever. It is just so moving to me, I cannot tell you the feelings when I sit on that stool to get to playing this. Did I say it is my favorite piece by far to play? This is one where I could be asked over and over again, play this Jess, and I don’t hesitate, the same way I do with other pieces of music. For me personally, this is one of the greatest pieces of music ever. Oh to be clear, in case it isn’t coming through, Beethoven rocked it with this piece of music.
That anyone would be proficient enough to play anything like this on any instrument amazes me. What do you play? Piano, guitar, both? I can’t explain how this piece makes me feel but it always stirs the emotions in a bittersweet, gut-wrenching way.
I could say underarm farting to keep my rep intact. Instead, I will fess up to being a piano dork, since I was about 7, so 21+yrs. Guitar I just started learning this time last year as matter of fact. Hubby is the guitarist, I can do the opening riff from Stairway to Heaven is about all, proficiently on guitar. I can only tell you that when I play this, it’s like I melt into the music and am carried away to a place of sadness and gloom but in a good way. It is one of those pieces of music that just grabs you at your very core. Just haunting would be the description if I had to give it one.
I bet Gerry Phillips can play it with his farty hands.
Love this song too, BTW.
I couldn’t find him doing this particular one. I did find him doing Fur Elise and the 5th.

I saw those- but you know I’ve watched all of his videos. Bohemian rhapsody is also artistic and compelling>
Seriously- the guy is a national treasure.
