The Shocking Spread of Unemployment Across America

Read Time:21 Second

The video below, made by Bureau of Labor Statistics writer, LaToya Egwuekwe, shows in graphic detail, county by county, the spread of unemployment across America from January 2007 to May 2010.

From time to time I wonder what a drastically different world this would be had Bush v. Gore been decided differently.

Tip o’ the hat to Daily Kos and HuffPo.

Only America could have someone with the ridiculous name of LaToya Egwuekwe

Can anyone actually pronounce that without spitting over their keypad?

oh…er…yeah…just remembered…I live in England….we’ve got Sri Lankans over here…nice peeps actually but don’t try their surnames sober!!!!

Kobalavithanage, Thilakaratne, Wickremasinghe….and they’re just the one’s who are my pals!!!!!

We make names up over here, based on the aesthetics of the phonetics alone.

I’m one of the millions of unemployed.

Anyone know where I can get a job?

Well, that sure the hell was depressing. I think I need to work on my big box store greeting skills a little more. Just so I can have a plan B. Wouldn’t hurt.

This is worse than I thought, there is even unemployment in places where nobody lives.

As I was watching the chart, all I could think of was would the zombie apocalypse spread the same way?
