You’ll Hear a Lot of Cool Stuff Tonight But…
J.G. Thirwell is an Australian New Yorker who is probably best known under his earlier nom de guerre “Jim Foetus.”
He was a notable performer and artist associated with the largely forgotten but highly influential “no wave” scene of the 1970s. His current project is a musical collaboration called Steroid Maximus. The above tracks are themes he created for an interesting animated show called The Venture Bros.

I love it! The Venture Bros are cool, but I’d never just listened to the music for its own sake. Like big band with lounge added.
I like it a lot too. There’s clearly a lot of sampling and multitracking going on but I love the over the top drama in it, it’s just great fun to listen too.
btw -New Venture Bros. episodes start September 12th.
