Forbes Magazine and The Inanities of Dinesh D’Souza: Not Fit to be Used as Toilet Paper

Read Time:2 Minute, 43 Second

When little Barry Obama was two years old, his father left him and his mother to fend for themselves. Barry Obama, the tike, would see his father, a Kenyan citizen, for one more brief moment when the future president was ten years old. Dinesh D’Souza, who recently authored an article in Forbes Magazine, How Obama Thinks, proposed that Obama’s brief and fleeting exposure to his father during Obama’s tender and formative years, was enough to make Obama a rabid anti-colonialist, Manchurian of the Luo tribesman sort, who deep down inside hates America’s guts.

According to D’Souza (an idiot’s intellectual), Obama, Sr. was a socialist and anti-colonialist. In addition to that unforgivable sin, D’Souza explains, Obama, Sr. was a drunken louse, to boot.

So who was Barack Obama Sr.? He was a Luo tribesman who grew up in Kenya and studied at Harvard. He was a polygamist who had, over the course of his lifetime, four wives and eight children. One of his sons, Mark Obama, has accused him of abuse and wife-beating. He was also a regular drunk driver who got into numerous accidents, killing a man in one and causing his own legs to be amputated due to injury in another. In 1982 he got drunk at a bar in Nairobi and drove into a tree, killing himself.

Following D’Souza’s logic, stretched to the point of snapping in two, because President Barack Obama is the son of a decidedly anti-colonial Luo tribesman, then Obama is an anti-colonial Luo tribesman, too.

This got me to thinking. D’Souza is espousing the notion that we are all so frail of conviction and intellectual free will that Obama, and by extension, all the rest of us are really under the cognitive control of our relatives and ancestors. I wondered, what relatives and ancestors of mine are hindering my capacity to be ethical and to think for myself?

Going all the way back to colonial times, my family owned slaves, until one day they found themselves on the losing side of the Civil War. I had a great grandmother who, by all accounts, was the meanest shrew to ever shit behind two heels. She was so mean that my great grandfather up and left her one day and moved to the desert of New Mexico were he founded a town that had a population of 11 when he died. My grandma and grandpa were bootleggers until the repeal of prohibition forced them to find another line of work. My other grandfather was a philandering drunk all his life until he was struck down at a youthful 85 years old, because he got too sick to get out of bed to fix a drink.

Employing D’Souza’s troubling logic, I’m a neo-pro-slavery, nagging shrew, contraband dealing, inebriated skirt chaser at the essential core of my being.

What I really wonder at is the journalistic integrity of the editors of Forbes magazine. Did they publish the article, written by a delusional, pseudo-intellectual nut, for the purpose of demonstrating how unhinged a writer can be, or do they actually think there is some merit to the crap that falls out of D’Souza’s mind? Probably the former. One-ply, discount toilet paper has more integrity.

You fail to see how Obama was raised and shaped by these radical socialistic ideals that came from DIRECT relatives and associates throughout his life. Obama’s book “Dreams from My Father” heavily supports D’Souza’s claim.

Good analysis man.

I’d read about how Gingrich actually bought into this insanity.I guess what I draw from this is that the same idiots who buy into Beck’s ridiculous whiteboard drivel connecting George Soros and ACORN into some type of imaginary Progressive movement will also buy into this.

Racism and stupidity are too easy. I work with teabaggers, and although they lack curiosity they aren’t stupid people. They’re bigots but not raving Kluxers. Only thing I can come up with is they see their perceived spot in the world (which really never included lower middle class people like them)as slipping away. A “foreign” president is just kind of pouring salt in the wounds to them.

Great analysis Lawyer, D’Souza and Forbes magazine seem to have an agenda and they are not letting the truth get in the way of promoting it. And we all know what Kenyan is another word for.

D’Souza is a liar. He doesn’t (like many in the Murdoch sponsored Right wing media complex) even believe what he himself writes. You did an excellent job of tearing his bullshit apart, which gives stupider listeners eager to believe his nonsense nowhere to hide… and ultimately nothing to believe in except their own groundless opposition to this administration and our nation’s duly-elected President.
