The Girl

Read Time:2 Minute, 42 Second

The Girl had a family.

The family were not entirely what ‘normal’ people would envisage as a family.

She left and moved in with what she perceived as a normal family.

The family in question agreed with her. They were ‘normal’ and her family were not exactly normal by the regular criteria that constitutes ‘normal’.

Well, in comparison to The Girl’s family, Attila The Hun would be considered normal rather than an egomaniacal mass killer.

The Girl loved her ‘adopted’ families daughter and the love was returned by the daughter and her parents.

The Girl was, and is, sadly, unhinged.

Not always you understand. Just sometimes.

The Girl created problems that the family didn’t need.

Problems that the family wouldn’t have even faced without The Girl being around.

The family could have said ‘Piss off!” whenever they wanted. Still can come to that.

It was THEIR home and THEIR life.

The Girl didn’t appreciate that. She never would and never will.

The family wanted to help her because the alternative was bad.

Knowing The Girl it was likely to be very bad. VERY bad.

So the family tried to help.

Sometimes the help worked and sometimes it didn’t.

The family found that the presence of The Girl often resulted in the front door being knocked on in the small hours of the morning.

The hubby found himself answering the door at 2 am to find a black kid asking for money.

“I is owed for the smack” would often be the refrain of the black kid.

“I have no idea what language you are speaking and, frankly, neither do I care. This French Epee bayonet I now wave before you is about to disappear up your arse(ass) if you don’t disappear now”

It does take it’s toll you know. It really does.

The Girl frequently fell out with the families own daughter. Usually due to alcohol or drugs.

Never the less The Girl was full of love. She really was. She just didn’t know how to express it…well…sometimes she did.

She would defend the families daughter with her life….

She would defend the family with her life….

Various circumstances or incidents over the years proved that to be true.

The Girl was loyal and loving – except on the odd occasion when she stuck a knife into the fathers back because she was angry at something. (Four times currently…the father is so so glad he has enough fat on him)….;-)

Fortunately, the father was somewhat rotund so the knife never penetrated very far as The Girl didn’t have sufficient strength even in a drugged up state.

The family have one daughter who is a former gymnastics champion at International level and is studying successfully for a degree at University – she is very academic and will almost certainly succeed.

The family have another daughter who isn’t their’s.

She will survive and become something that she will never envisage because ‘the family’ will make it so.

Some are born with it all.

Some are born and make it despite it all.

Some are born and lose it all before they even know what ‘it all means.

The Girl will make it because someone cares.

That IS all.

Nite America.
