The Palin takes on the nutty Koran burning Pastor Jones and twists it to serve the Righties

Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

This may be the only time I agree with Sarah Palin.  This nut whacking Jesus Jumper is feeding on this publicity like a fly on sugar.  He’s “praying” on it.  F*ck him and the rest of his Bible Banging barkers.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about the Koran, Pakistan, or Afghanistan.  I am not a fan of anything that ends in “stan.”  I do, however, care about Americans who may find themselves in harm’s way because of these biblical bull-shitters.  So up yours pastor what’s your name!  Take your nonsense to the dumb shits who care.  Just don’t hurt our soldiers by your arrogant game playing.  So here is the rest of the story:

He’s ignored the general, Hillary, and all forms of international condemnation. Now can Florida’s loopy Koran-hating pastor withstand Sarah Palin? She’s entered the fray with a Facebook post headlined “Koran Burning Is Insensitive, Unnecessary; Pastor Jones, Please Stand Down.”

Palin writes that she hopes “Terry Jones and his supporters will consider the ramifications of their planned book-burning event. It will feed the fire of caustic rhetoric and appear as nothing more than mean-spirited religious intolerance.” Earlier today, Jones said the Koran burning on 9/11 was still a go, though he qualified it with an “as of now.” This evening, the FBI weighed in with a warning that the spectacle might prompt a retaliatory attack by Islamic extremists, reports ABC News. Just give it up, says Palin: “Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation—much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.” To read more about the pastor’s history of Islamaphobia, click here.

Oh and not for nothing, the Tundra twit weighed in saying ok, book burner not going to burn books, those of you that read the book should stop being violent, I’m paraphrasing because it was full of Bible Spice fail.

I’m just full of updates on this story today. Lookie here what TPM dug up on the good pastor muttonchops and some of his GOP partners, on our tax dime no less, in Germany a while ago. Almost an identical situation. Why if I was not so cynical, I might think he did some dirty work for them again, only in this country to get things going in a different direction than we SHOULD be talking about. You know, like the couple of really good speeches PO did this week about what we face in the midterms if we go back to the old GoOper ways. Nah, the republicans would never do anything as low as this.

Some more linky goodness exposing this pastor and his “church”

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/9/5/893426/-WARNING:-Money-launderers-using-muslims-as-red-herrings.

Less than an hour later, Jess updates with, nope, the burning may be back on again.

Why this fool was given so much media and bandwidth is totally beyond me. Says the one following the story. Ah, anyway one good thing came out of it, Boehner and Bible Spice brought the republicans into it and now things are being looked into all over the blogosphere regarding Enzi from WY and his ties to this.

So an update, TPM is saying this guy is flying up to NYC to meet with the Iman of Park51 on the 11th. Pastor muttonchops is saying the Iman agreed to moving the mosque tht isn’t which is total bullshit.

Apparently the FBI paid him a little visit this morning. No doubt pastor muttonchops, has some skeletons in his closet after being found out to be a tyrant and booted out of Germany, running a for profit business using his church people, free of charge.
No one knew about the park 51 place being the impetus for him doing this Koran burning till this morning. So once again, we have republicans stirring up the intolerance pot and when one of their own goes all crazy whackadoodle on them, they couldn’t foresee this happening. I swear, I saw ads the other day for islands for sale, it is so f*ckin tempting right now. The crazy is making me sick.

Here’s Chris Matthews talking to the other pastor man of the ironically named Dove World outreach center. How many pastors does a group of 50 need anyway? Nevermind, watch till the end please, because he does interview more than the crazy pastor man and it’s worth it.

Palin actually had me until the mosque comment. Well, props to her anyway for having a stunning moment of near-logic and even a bit of reason in her response to this.

Most people who end up doing provocative stunts like the one planned by this pastor end up having regrets, even if it takes years sometimes to gain perspective. The pastor’s plans are deplorable, but it will be even more disturbing if he can actually sleep with the guilt of his own recklessness.

What a kind effort on this guy’s part, though, to try to point out that the actions of one “nut” shouldn’t be taken to speak for an entire religion.

Blech, you know, as much as I am going to get flamed for this here, I am going to say it after thinking about it for a few days now. The first amendment is there whether or not we like what the person is doing. Remember when commander cuckoo bananas was in office and some of us were protesting his desert adventures? It would hurt the troops, it was traitorous, we should be hung and so on. It’s the same thing on a different level. It’s a group of 50 that has caused all this interantional talk because our media, once again, has given voice to the fringe. I totally hate what the guy is doing, but he has every right to do it, according to our Constitution. Should he do it, is another story, of course he shouldn’t.
With the Tundra twit and her military type tweetifying, this is adding to the whole, we are at war against Islam, where we are not IMO. She’s just trying to keep herself relevant and another one that gets media time that does not deserve it. Flame away people.

I think the world would a safer place if Pastor Jones decided to burn his church to the ground.

Well Bible Spice finally said something worthwhile. Interesting that she is using sensitivity as an issue, but if it protects the troops remaining in Clusterfuckistan I am all for it.
