Hey Democrats be ready to cut off your noses to spite your faces

Read Time:1 Minute, 3 Second

The Democrats, and the so called “progressives” have been pouting.  They’ve been discouraging people to vote.

They’ve been doing this so “we can show them.”

Well, idiots one and all, the only thing you have managed to do is put the Republicans back in power.

Here is the story in brief:

Steve Kornacki provides a preview of what’s in store for Democrats in the wake of Tuesday’s election by looking back at 1994. That’s when Newt said (of Bill and Hillary): “They really are left-wing elitists and they really thought the country didn’t get it and therefore it was their job to give the country the government that they thought the country needed …” Rush Limbaugh labeled Clinton’s first two years a “belch,” and George Will opined that Clinton would never win a second term in the newly conservative nation.

Sub in Obama’s name, “and you will hear virtually the same commentary next week,” writes Kornacki at Salon. It demonstrates “how exuberant ideologues and partisans can read far, far too much into an election result.” Conservatives will no doubt say this time is different and that Obama won’t be able to rebound like Clinton, and Reagan before him. “That’s a very premature judgment.” Click here for the full column.

Perhaps Jess has a point… but I am in total agreement with Krell’s (that’s why they pay you big bucks!) commentary on fiscal Obama missteps.
Did anyone see 60Mins last night? It was the segment on the ‘heartland’ and joblessness in America… it’s unceasing, unhalting… lemminglike flow out of USA…. that has not just broken the economy… Did anyone see how it has broken people’s hearts?
If America, the America w/o politicians… the pure bred America of you and me and communities across the country… if America is broken hearted and sick of the politics that do nothing to fix any of it…
who knows what anyone will vote for. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE POLITICAL STORY. (like us) they live lives going through the Lincoln Tunnel one at a time, compromising honorably with each other. Washington could learn. We are a third world country now, and don’t realize it but from the bottom up. Leadership has failed us.
And the election will tell that tale…. I think.
Vote.
If you haven’t already.

I don’t know you guys. The pundits may be way off base this election. Hubby and I were at a Halloween fundraiser for a homeless teen place last night and a lot of them there were talking about voting for dems for the first time ever. Some of the reasoning was the teaparty is just too confrontational and too into just getting power for the sake of getting power. I’ll be taking several car loads of people to the polls Tuesday so I might be able to change a few minds on the way, hey I can dream can’t I. I know the people I am taking, all from my inlaws senior center, are all voting yes on 19(wacky weed law) because their grandkids told them to so there is still some hope for a dem win.

Seriously Holte? You think there are no shifts of opinion (per referendums) demographics among the Republicans (aka tea party) nor the Democrats???
I think the swing voters are merely threads each candidate is desperately clutching on to right now… well, those who are in close races.

Democrats are democrat, republicans are republican, very, very few of them vote for the opposite party, swing and independent voters decide every election.

Had Obama not pursued the same crony capitalist policy as Bush, had he not supported the war, had he not been more concerned with public relations than with actual legislation – we wouldn’t be arguing the issue. We’d be supporting him.

why do people continue to blame progressives when the fault lies with Wall St and lobbyists and the big banks? Blame the ones who caused our problems, not those who want a better world for our children.

Hate to be the turd in your punch bowl Oso but I have to. I don’t see where PO is following the crony ways of commander cuckoo bananas and I would be one of the first to dog him if he did. He hasn’t done a lot as far as some of the issues I hold near and dear, but he has done some things that let me know, there will be continued effort to get it right. As far as following CCB ways, if he did he would not have Wall St and big business going after him the way they are mercilessly day in day out with the ads and putting him down.

Don’t see Obama “pursuing the same crony capitalism”??? Are you kidding me? We can take this from two angles…

Supporting by continuation of the status quo….

Picking Larry Summers for his Director of Finance while he still had numerous ties to Wall Street. Allowing Summers to cut a deal with Bernanke, allowing Banks to change standard accounting procedures and revalue toxic assets 100 percent to the dollar.

Instead, created the “Stress test” for determining bank solvency instead of practices of assets and liabilities.

Not pursuing one criminal case through the Justice Dept. against any of Goldman Sachs gang even though hard evidence that they extended the crash for over a year so they could short sell the market.

Allowing TARP money (TAXPAYERS MONEY!) to be used for extravagant parties and huge bonuses, and when publicized, merely stating a casual…”Okay you guys, this is not right. Please don’t do it again” Over and Over again.

Actively making decisions towards……

Actively gutting the Financial Reform bill so that it has absolutely no enforcement power.

Actively stating that they will not support a moratorium on Foreclosures even thought the FBI is investigating and they have 1000’s of cases of signature and notary fraud. The only statement given is that the “Foreclosure Crisis does not affect the health of the banks”. To hell with the victims of the fraud!

Actively setting up a program for “helping those homeowners underwater” for publicity sake, but allowing the program to become nothing more than a stall and identify program for mortgage servers”

I don’t know where you guys have been but the country was raped for over a trillion bucks with what was clearly PONZI schemes and NOBODY has been even charged!
It has been said that 1 out of 5 mortgages may be in trouble.

The only actions that I see coming out of the White House has to do with maintaining the health of the TBTF banks. And getting that contribution money.

Just like in all elections, it’s the swing voters who decide, the mid-terms will be no different.

This isn’t happening because of folks being told to not vote. It’s happening because all the good work the Democrats have accomplished has not been MESSAGED to the people effectively and the Pres. is a ‘day’ late on it.
The “so called progressives” includes the majority of Dem bloggers btw… the Netroots crowd too… who happened to get the vote out to landslide proportions to elect the first African American President. The same crowd (including me) …who have been getting the vote out this month & will spend Tuesday polling – the old fashioned way.
Sell boo-hoo and guilt someplace else… we’re all full up on the progressive side!
🙂
and happy halloween Mike!

You know… the speculation is that a House full of Republicans will help Obama get his agenda out… now they can’t be NO w/o repercussions.
