Republicans want Free Markets…Fox wants $80 Million more…

Read Time:2 Minute, 44 Second

There are those among us who are Republicans and are vehement in their call for “Free Markets”. That has also long been a battle cry from the likes of Conservative Commentators on Fox programs. Fox is of course owned by News corp. The cry in turn had been picked up by the Fox Faithful, their viewers , many of whom do not even know what they are really advocating.

These viewers…many of whom are voters who had previously intended to vote Republican or Tea Party this November, are now having second thoughts. Why?… you may ask are these Die-Hard supporters of the “Free Market”, who boasted that Hurricanes, Recessions, Wars, Oil Spills and Foreclosures could not change their minds, considering doing just that in the coming Elections? The reasons may fly around your head and you would be in a daze before coming up with the right answer, which is….Sports.

You see, in places like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut , supporting the “Free Market” system has consequences…and a big price tag. Because of the ongoing rift over fees charged to the Cablevision Company by News Corp, parent company of Fox, there has now been a suspension of Fox programs  that were distributed by Cablevision  on their Cable Network.

The end result is simply that the “Free Market” system is proving to be quite expensive for Cablevision, who is being asked to ante up 80 million dollars more on top of the 70 million they already pay, to carry Fox programs. These programs include but are not restricted to Football Games, Baseball Games, The World Series and much more.

Consumers are already wary of the fact that if  Cablevision is made to pay more, the cost will be somehow passed down to consumers or they will suffer the wrath of Cablevision by having less included programming in their cable prepaid packages, and a rise in shows they are charged extra for. Who would have thought that these brave stalwarts of Justice according to the “Free Market” system would fold for a little thing as TV programming.

What that says about how little some of these people care for the Country as a whole…speaks volumes. Apparently America’s well being means less to them than sports programming! Welcome to the wacky world of Tea Baggers, Birthers, Republicans and Cable TV, who’s got them by the balls…and may be coming to your Cable Network soon! After all, if Cablevision can be forced to pay more by Fox, what will stop your Cable TV company from coming after you to carry Fox Programming!

This link will give you the list of over 100 shows that you currently watch, which are Fox programs that many of you enjoy as part of your Cable TV package now. This includes House, Glee, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Nascar, NFL, Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader and many more.

I wish they’d go to an “ala carte” system where you only pay for the channels you want, and can not even subscribe or purchase those you don’t. People already “vote with the remote” and don’t watch certain things- they shouldn’t have to pay for them as well.

Anything that affects ClusterFox negatively is a positive.
