Lazy ass Obama has done nothing in past 2 years, except . .

Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

In an attempt to cheer up the liberals who think the man they voted for has let them down, a few of the many things, the Obama Administration has achieved since inheriting the swamp from George W. Bush.

Provided $12.2 Billion in new funding for Individuals With Disabilities Education Act.  But I’m not disabled.

Extended Benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees.Doesn’t apply to me.

Appointed more openly gay officials than any other president in US history. Told you I’m not gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Created more private sector jobs in 2010 than during entire Bush years.  I’m retired.

Appointed first Latina to the US Supreme Court. What else?

Reversed ‘global gag rule’, allowing US aid to go to organizations regardless of whether they provide abortions. Is that all?

Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, restoring basic protections against pay discrimination for women and other workers. That’s good for Lily, but there must be more.

There is lots more, and it’s all out there, it might not matter to all Americans, enough couldn’t be done for some Americans. How much Obama has done will not be noticed until the next republican president starts repealing it. It should take him/her a while.

time to water the tree of liberty obama fail
Hard to believe, this guy has a voice too, but don’t we all

Arriba! Arriba! I just revisited them my friend. I think, as I mentioned in email, we need to rework and repost, which of course includes re-marketing. Timely. Timely. Timely.

Off topic ranting of Jess.

I know one of you will want to get the jump on this little news here. TPM has a post up about the catfood commission and sure as I am sitting here, they went right to Soc Sec, the veterans and giving the wealthy a helping hand because we all know how much the wealthy need more money. Oh and let’s not forget the couple hundred million the public broadcasting network gets. Pubbies have been trying to get CPB unfunded for forever. I swear if Obama or the dems take any of these suggestions, I am done, DONE phonebanking, donating, dragging others to the polls.

WTF? WTF? WTF? I just went to TPM Jess and I am shocked. Who the f*ck are these guys?? I mean I’ve heard of them but why did Obama appoint theses clowns? This is just getting nuttier by the day. I’m starting to think Oso may have a point. Thanks for the link.

It’s important that we all agree to disagree without hurling epithets and invectives. We are a team, and we are on the same team. Everyone is entitled to an opinion even if it doesn’t match our own. Expressing our own thoughts and ideas, or even simply duplicating the research, only to have some brave soul disagree with our position, is not cause to take the ball and go home. Let’s have fun here. That is what MMA is all about after all. When we start taking ourselves too seriously it’s time to close the doors and I certainly don’t want to do that.

So let’s have fun and enjoy. If you feel strongly about your position then write a post about it. If you feel that a visitor or commenter expressed a thought or idea that raises your hackles then write a post as to why. It is, after all, about healthy discussion and the healthier and more robust the discussion the more fun we all have. After all it’s just politics. What is happening today may well change tomorrow and we’ll have something else to bitch about. Enjoy!

Peace and love…peace and love (Ringo Starr said that originally. Greenlight pointed out that I am not properly attributing so I find it necessary to do so going forward) 🙂 🙂 🙂

MadMike, you just made my day. I’m a huge fan of peace, harmony, mediation, AND proper attribution. It feels like Christmas (or some comparable but non-religious event known for bringing great joy). And look, it’s even accompanied by heated political debate. This is like spring training for my holiday season. 🙂

Glad you liked it GL and I will be much more careful with my attribution in the future so you can put your Google Gun away 🙂

MM, the google gun never rests. Heck, I even sleep with one in my nightstand. You just never know, especially in this political climate.

I never thought that being in the pro-Obama minority would put me at odds with the majority of Americans, many of which are liberals. Can I still call myself a liberal and be pro-Obama? So maybe I am just a moderate. Obama has accomplished a whole lot in his first two years.

Check it out:

Pro-Obama is actually the majority, because only 14% of the population voted for the Repuglickers…

See now this is where people lose me with the pro Obama/against Obama stuff. Can I not be against some of the policies the admin is getting behind and still pro Obama? I get shouted down all the time at some other places, because I don’t consider him to be my boyfriend enough, when I am yakking about how I don’t like this or that policy. I’ve got nothing against the man, I don’t know him, it’s the policies I am critical of not PO the man.

At the end of the day, it is our job, as citizens, to criticize where criticism is due. It doesn’t mean we want Palin or McCrankypants as president when one points out that the President hasn’t been the leader that he MUST be. Most of the “good things” he’s done have been half-measures, some were quarter-measures, some worse. I think it is fair to say that if he had been more iron-fisted, rather than conciliatory to the extreme, with the republicans when they were a minority in both houses, they wouldn’t have a majority in the House right now, and they wouldn’t have been able to get away with stonewalling every single measure that ever passed through their delicate little fingers.

Healthcare reform would have never equated to Single Payer…not at this time. However, it could have had a LOT more teeth than it did, and those teeth could have been honed to razor points. They weren’t. The only practical applications I’m seeing currently is that you don’t have to pay a co-pay for wellness visits and preventative care (not so important, really, because they just built that into the back end of the policy), and pre-existing conditions (which is important, grant you, but that could have been better. We’ll find it’s full of loopholes).

As for the bank bailout, I still think it was a necessary evil, and if they had been allowed to fail at that time, we’d be in a full-on depression right now. That could have been handled better. However, the TARP money being paid back is coming back at about an 8% return, which is a hell of a lot more than I’m making on my money market, by about 7.95% better.

Jobs are the problem…and they are what will give the republicans the white house and senate in 2012 if the jobs situation doesn’t improve by then, and I doubt it will improve appreciably any time soon, because the maddening cycle of “banks afraid to lend, employers afraid to hire” is still spinning at 4500 rpms.

This president had a heavy burden when he walked into office, true. But the conciliatory attitude with a party that has made denying him a second term its number one priority is what has really killed his approval rating. While he’s reaching across the aisle constantly, everything is going to hell in a handbasket.

WTF is wrong with you guys? It’s like being in fucking Bizarro world. Every one of you guys opposed war under Bush. You supported affordable health care and jobs for Americans instead of unlimited funds for profligate bankers.
But with a Democrat in office-no more principles.you guys are ok with the wars-which BHO always voted to fund. You’re ok with bailing out the health insurers and killing a PO and HCR written by Wellpoint. You’re down with bailing out TBTF banks.
Why do you guys make fun of teabaggers anyway? You’re on the same side.Supporting war and the big banks and opposing affordable healthcare.
You’ re teabaggers.

Au contraire, Oso. For me, I can’t fight by myself and am getting just tired of it all. Protesting two wars when you don’t have anyone else, outside Stanford mall, having things thrown at you is not a good thing. If people are not willing to get up off their asses and scream, the rest of us have to take the baby steps that are being put out. It just is what it is. I have not and will not support wars at all. What can I do though? What can any of us do when the powers that be hold all the gold?

Stimpson

I fear this disagreement is escalating to a bad place. Let’s all chill a little.

OK?

Now, Oso has a point. Health-care “reform” wasn’t really reform, besides maybe disallowing “preexisting condition” bullshit (but even then …). The wars are still going on. Bankers got basically free money when distressed homeowners could have been helped out directly instead. People lost their homes because of crazy, unrestricted greedy bullshit perpetrated by Goldman Sachs, AIG, et al., and yet the financial services industry is allowed to continue doing business unrestricted but with the tacit understanding that it will be bailed out when the next bubble bursts.

Not all is good. The Obama White House has done good things, but let’s not reduce ourselves to uncritical cheerleaders.

I’m not seeing it go to a bad place at all, just disagreements on policies. We, all of us, are all for the most part democrats here, it is not a get in line behind the message party. Never has been, never will be, which is why I am a democrat.

There is a similar list of accomplishments for GWB.With all the riders it would be difficult NOT to have a long list of accomplishments to point to with pride.Every slacker employee uses the same tactic and it’s really fucking tiresome to continue to see this same stupid shit to cover his inaction.
We needed affordable healthcare and financial reform and an end to the wars.instead we got Public Relations legislation so the MF could please his campaign contributors and the zombies who clap like trained seals for Republican policy cause it’s a Democrat screwing them.

It’s not a different view.it’s the Democrat party line.War and corruption are bad with R’s in charge. With D’s they are a good thing.Peoples lives and livelihoods matter more than partisan suppport of corrupt Wall st supported thieves.

He certainly has done a lot yes he has. Now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, this is the guy that will be taking over environmental issues in the house. Watch it and totally weep, when he talks about Noah/the world being saved because it’s in the Bible. I weep for this country if this guy gets anywhere near environmental legislation. Now remember these are the same people that have just banned Sharia law in Oklahoma and are using the Bible in commerce meetings. *sheesh* my head is spinning.

That change in aid policy gets an especially enthusiastic thumbs-up from me. It’s sad that reactionary views on abortion ever seeped into aid policy in the first place.

Nope the new congress has decided to just hold hearings and repeal things. Oh and they are going to make sure there is no timetable for withdrawal in Iraq and Afghanistan. Woohoo, good times to be had by all, when the pubbies/teapublicans** are in charge.

**Both one and the same as the pubbies, don’t let the new name fool you at all.
