Pat “Wheel of Fortune” Sajak apologizes for Keith Olbermann?

Read Time:1 Minute, 9 Second

I’m no real fan of Keith Olbermann anymore than I’m a fan of Ed Schultz.  I consider both to be blustering blowhards who are to the Left what Beck, Hannity et al are to the Right.

That being said when a game show host decides to criticize I feel my hackles starting to rise.  Here’s the story:

Pat Sajak says he “introduced Keith Olbermann to America” via his 1989 talk show, and now he’d like to apologize. “I’m not sure how he morphed into the bitter-sounding, hate-mongering name-caller he’s become, but I’m sorry he did,” Sajak writes on his Ricochet blog. “I do know that to whatever extent the political well has been poisoned, Keith has dumped more than his share of venom into the water. I’d like to think he knows that and maybe even regrets it. I liked the Keith Olbermann of 1989. This tape reminded me that I miss him.”

See it in the gallery. Olbermann responded via Twitter today, notes Mediaite. He disputed Sajak’s claim of giving him his first national exposure, noting that he’d worked for CNN in the early ’80s and had been subsequently featured on both Today and the CBS Evening News. “But when they fired Pat for mailing in that talk show, they did interview me to succeed him, so THAT he introduced me to.”

Who would really listen to this guy? He and Vanna White and just amusements on the way to the end of life. Keith O., despite his big fat mouth at times really can exert some influence. PS not so much I think.

Oh yeah Sajak the rightie that thinks climate change is a hoax and some other right wing nonsense. He needs to stick with what he is good at, selling vowels and giving people letters.

Why all the hate for my next ex husband Keith, from all these idiots? Could be he is the one calling them out on their bull and they don’t appreciate it.

Sajak should be asked to explain what he means by “hate mongering.” I haven’t noticed any coming from Olbermann.

If Olbermann is a liberal (not Left) O’Reilly, then what’s his Jeremy Glick interview? What religious group has he said is collectively responsible for mass murder?

I call false equivalency.

Olbermann might be a blowhard and Beck-like in his bluster, certainly not a reasonable man, but he is a voice. I’d pay more attention to him if he stopped the name calling.
