Presidential Historian: Americans are lazy and obese

Face the Nation got a little excited today, with host Bob Schieffer provoking presidential biographer Edmund Morris to curse on air and then slam the American people. Asked during a roundtable discussion what Teddy Roosevelt would think of today’s politics, Morris responded, “You keep asking these presentist questions. As the immortal Marisa Tomei said in My Cousin Vinny, ‘That’s a f***ed up question!’”

He went on to explain that “you cannot pluck people out of the past and expect them to comment on what’s happening today,” Politico reports. He then criticized the American people, who “are insensitive to foreign sensibilities, who are lazy, obese, complacent, and increasingly perplexed as to why we are losing our place in the world to people who are more dynamic than us and more disciplined.”

Ha! Edmund Morris is my favorite person of the day. I might just go out and buy one of his books tomorrow for kicks.

Oh no! Another reason to wish I had a television on Sundays.

You mean to tell me that things got slightly real on a Sunday talking heads show?!

I normally watch Face the Nation but just didn’t want anything to do with politics this past Sunday. Sigh….

I don’t watch any of the Press the Meat shows, since lil Timmy Russert passed away. Gregory is a tool, Snuffleupagus was useless as tits on a boar and John King, well I have nothing nice to say so I’ll stop. I am with Mr M Kelly up there, I might need to go check out this guys books. Seems when the truth is told, it’s a big deal doesn’t it?

That was quite an entertaining video, probably watched by minimal viewers, shame.
