Assange says Palin and Huckabee are trying to get him killed
Furious WikiLeaker Julian Assange yesterday slammed critics like Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin for “inciting people to murder” him. “If we are to have a civil society you cannot have senior people making calls on national TV to go around the judiciary and murder people. That is incitement to commit murder,” he told MSNBC in an interview from England. “That is an offense.” He wondered whether the United States was slipping into “anarchy” amid what he called “digital McCarthyism.”
Are “those great Bill of Rights traditions of due process just thrown to the wind whenever some shock jock politician” wants to “make a name for themselves?” he asked. Vice President Joe Biden and Palin have compared Assange’s leaking classified material to terrorism, with Palin saying the US should “use whatever means necessary to hunt Assange down like an al-Qaeda” operative. Huckabee said he considered “anything less than execution” as “too kind a penalty.”

There comes a point in time where all of the “chickens come home to roost.” Throughout centuries governments have transmitted secrets, and committed acts in secrets for the good, and on behalf of the people of their respective countries. This has occurred even to the point, at their discretion, of assisting corporate interests in the same vein. Well, it seems that in amongst all of their good doings within this global economy that they pretty near brought down the entire world financial system with the exception of China which plays by its own rules. What beguiles me is the fact that with all of the secrecy, espionage, and skulduggery that they cannot shut down Al Queda, the drug lords, the heroin fields or anything else. The only thing they have mange to shut out in the process are the American citizens who are not a threat to anyone. Their response; “Trust us, we are looking out for you.” Yeah sure, that is why we have fought a war we should not have and gotten bog down in a war that we could have probably cleared up fairly quickly had we not bothered with the first one.
I have no confidence in the congress, or any of the governmental agencies to make good decisions because of the bureaucracies and the fragmented process. We sent troops to Iraq without the best equipment and without adequate preparation. We sent troops to Afghanistan in too few numbers without a clear plan of action and without proper equipment or preparation. It doesn’t matter what anyone says this is Vietnam with a smaller military body count.
I just wish that Mr. Assange had been a little bit more “surgical” (i.e., less gratuitous) in his leaking. Yes, the American public has a right to know what its government is up to. But I also fear that many people’s lives may in fact have been compromised here……I sincerely hope that I’m wrong about this.
What has amazed me about the whole thing is how most of the mainstream media will not address any of the wrongs that are exposed by WikiLeaks.
Keep the focus on Assange and not on some of the despicable actions that he exposes.
I suspect they are overwhelmed by the volume of information. I read somewhere that most of it was inconsequential and much could not be verified independently.

What bothers me is the fact that the news is making such a big issue of this. It bothers me every time I hear The Palin and president mentioned in the same sentence. As to The Huckabee you have got to be kidding me. This is the guy who is begging for funds to help the repeal of HCR. Geez. It is so frustrating.
