Seattle Seahawks: Super Bowl or Bust!
Ah sweet vindication. Not that I predicted an upset victory for the Seahawks over the defending Super Bowl Champion Saints. But that I was one of the few that defended the Seahawks even appearing in the playoffs.
I believe all the naysayers at ESPN and elsewhere owe me an apology and a letter to MadMike demanding a raise for me for my journalistic courage in the face of ridicule.
On to more journalistic courageousness. I pick Indianapolis to beat the Jets tonight. (Whoops). But unless you’re from New York i think everyone else does also. The game I think will be a shocker to many is tomorrow’s contest between the Ravens and Chiefs.
Sure the Ravens have experience. But the game is in Kansas City. Well known as a tough place for visiting teams to win. But I think a real point favoring the Chiefs is youth. Face it. The Ravens have two old dudes on defense that as the game wears on will begin to show it. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis are getting up there for football players. Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassell is no slouch. Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is top notch. As a coordinator anyway. This won’t be a cakewalk by any means for Baltimore. And I’m not sold on Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. However Ravens defensive lineman Terrell Suggs is a stud who can dominate a game like Lawrence Taylor used to so the advanced years of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed might not matter.
I still am taking the Kansas City Chiefs to win. My granddaughter likes the color of their uniforms

You are obviously a man of intelligence and perception Joe. And I like your first name.
Free agency and unionization enabled Manning to be paid the gigantic salary he makes. Johhny Unitas never had the money and freedom of free agency or union protections Manning and the rest of the NFL athletes, as well as the other professional sport athletes enjoy.
Why they would support union busting republicans shows so many of them for the selfish jerks they really are. They got theirs thanks to unions and collective bargaining. Screw the regular working Joe.
Joe,
I’m still crushed by the Raiders quitting against the Colts.I’m glad the Jets won but I wish they would have done permanent damage to that Republican party contributing bastard Manning.
I think the Seahawk victory makes the case even further that they don’t belong in the playoffs. The Saints play hard and well all year to defend their title, and a team that played poorly all year knocks them out. It’s saying the regular season is meaningless, just coast and win 7 games, then play hard against a good team in the playoffs. It rewarded the Seahawks for sucking all year, and punished the Saints for playing hard all year.
Good read and good luck with that raise 🙂
Good call on the Seahawks game Joe, it was a good one too, the Jets/Colts not so exciting excepting the 4th quarter.
Two favorites got beat yesterday and I’m with you in hoping the Chiefs can make it three and beat the Ravens. They need to run the ball down their throat and get some play action passing going. If the Chiefs have to pass to win, they could struggle. Run baby, run . . .
