Father of “5 Browns” religious piano group admits to sodomizing daughters

Read Time:1 Minute, 57 Second

It looks like God hasn’t been there every day for the innocent girl members of the Mormon musical group The 5 Browns.  It seems their Jesus loving daddy decided that the piano wasn’t the only instrument his poor young daughters should be playing.  It is no wonder that the ranks of the Atheists are swelling.

Stories like this need to be told and I will continue to publish the hypocrisy of those who go to church every Sunday, force their will on the ignorant and uneducated, and then retreat into the dark corners of their worlds.

This is yet another example of  hypocrisy at its finest.  It is now so common among the faithful I am no longer surprised by the insanity of it all.  Here is the story:

In news that has rocked the Mormon church, Utah and the classical music world, the father of the famed piano group The 5 Browns has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his three daughters when they were young.

Keith Brown, 55, pleaded guilty to felony charges of sodomy on a child under 14 and of sexual abuse of a child, the Deseret News reports. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will recommend that he be imprisoned for 10 years to life. Sentencing is set for March 31.

His lawyer, Steven Shapiro, said the plea negotiations took six months, the paper says. Police said that although charges were filed last week, the investigation had taken months.

Shapiro said Brown first confessed the abuse to his bishop at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but prosecutor David Sturgill said the daughters first reported the abuse to police, writes the Deseret News, which is published by a company owned by the church.

The paper says that Brown “appeared very solemn and emotional” during his court appearance today in Provo, his face “scratched with injuries from a spectacular Monday auto accident.”

Brown and his wife, Lisa, were injured when their Porsche plummeted 500 feet into a canyon on their way home from dinner. She remains hospitalized. Shapiro said it was an accident, not deliberate.

Brown used to manage his five children’s musical career but no longer has any professional connection. The Brown women — Desirae, Deondra and Melody — severed their professional relationship with their father in October 2008. They issued a statement Tuesday.

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site? My blog site is in the exact same niche as yours and my users would certainly benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Many thanks!

I wish Joseph Smith had invented his own Deities to go with his religion. I don’t like sharing mine with Mormons.

One fly, ayup most definitely disturbing. One girl had to meet with the LDS bishop and her abuser, to forgive him for what he had done? WTF, I’m surprised they never told her to apologize for his feeling the need to rape her. Having survived abuse at the hands of adults, as a child, nothing but nothing pushes my buttons more than stories like this. It scars you all different kinds of ways if you let it, and I hope the kids this happened to, have had access to therapy/counseling and not in the churches or from the bishops or whatever the holy men call themselves, that allowed this to happen to them.

That they have chosen to continue with their music for others is commendable after suffering at the dad’s hand. You just know he was trying to off himself so he wouldn’t have to face the music. Bastard deserves all the time and more behind bars for abusing girls like this. Solemn and emotional was he, oh poor guy feeling bad for him might get to me, nope not a chance. His own girls even, so much for Jesus followers being more moral than the rest of us. Hypocritical bastard trying to take his wife with him too. Yeah, I’ll totally buy it his accident was not deliberate, the same way pigs will fly out my butt later tonight.

Same day, different TBFJ** FYI. PA Catholic Diocese is investigating as many as 37 priests for abuse of children. Some of them getting as much punishment as being taken away from their ministering duties and put on administrative leave even. Why are they allowed to investigate and not the DA or powers that can actually do something I have never, nor do I think will ever, understand.

Yet I, as an atheist, have the morals of an alley cat in heat supposedly. Go friggin figure.

I have to respectfully disagree here with you Barbara. Rape is rape, is rape and is never a good thing, no matter how disgusting we might think they are, they don’t deserve that treatment imo. I’ll bet Mike could give us stories about prison rape that would make us cringe, him having worked in that environment and all.

Actually Jess I never worked in prisons, although I did consult for a state Department of Corrections for some years. Regardless, I could indeed tell some stories that could be most “cringeworthy.” 🙂
