Fox to dump Glenn Beck?

Read Time:1 Minute, 13 Second

Glenn Beck, the nutty narrator of Fox News, has long been tormenting sensible people with his narcissistic nonsense.  Now, however, the former zookeeper’s assistant may be at the end of his rope with his Right Wing bosses.  Here is the story:

(Newser) – The Glenn Beck phenomenon has been, well, phenomenal since the “conjurer of conspiracies” made his Fox debut in 2009, turning the once the moribund 5pm time slot into a ratings juggernaut. “But a funny thing happened on the way to the revolution,” writes David Carr for the New York Times—those amazing ratings have suddenly nosedived, with Beck losing 30% of his viewers since August. And now Fox News executives “are willing to say—anonymously, of course … that they are looking at the end of his contract in December and contemplating life without” Beck.

“The problem with ‘Glenn Beck’ is that it has turned into a serial doomsday machine that’s a bummer to watch,” writes Carr. Beck, alone in the studio, surrounded by cluttered chalkboards, “reminds me of an undergrad seminar on macroeconomics with an around-the-bend professor I didn’t particularly enjoy.” Of course, even a declining Beck gets numbers most broadcasting pundits could only dream of, and he would probably do fine without Fox—he raked in some $30 million last year in revenue from books, talk radio show, stage performances, and other content. (Click for more from Beck, who called his radio show a “recipe for disaster.”)

Gee Holte. I was thinking more about 2430. I know there is no such time but then, most of the crap he talks about doesn’t exist either.

It’s a complete mystery to me how this moron with no intellectual appeal whatsoever attracts the an audience.
I think I watched a brief few minutes of him once to get that impression and all reports since seem to uphold it.

It’s beyond me also. I have never watched him, but I have seen the various news clips. He is a clown not a legitimate broadcaster.

Well, he has served his purpose for the Murdochs and Ailes of the world. Get the pee partiers out for the election with wholesale insanity, now they don’t really need him because the pee partiers are all riled up from other places.

Now watch his becoming a victim schtick, because “they” are out to silence him and his thoughts. Can’t have this toxic mess around when the election is next year. Getting rid of Beck from the clown car, makes the rest of the clowns look sane in comparison.

I’ll wait and see if it does in fact happen. This might just be a negotiation stand for them since his contract is up.
