Birther Bill and End to Affirmative Action in Oklahoma
What do you get when you have a republican led state senate, house of representatives and a republican governor in the reddest state in the union? Tireless endeavors fueled by lunacy.
Oklahoma now has its own birther bill in an attempt to out-idiot Arizona. Anyone running for president who wants to participate in Oklahoma primaries will be required to show proof of citizenship. Proponents of the bill say that the legislation has nothing to do with birther insanity. It just looks a lot like it, is all.
Another measure is snaking its way out of the Oklahoma capital that would allow Oklahomans to vote to put an end to affirmative action. State representative Sally Kern told reporters why she is in favor of banning affirmative action.
Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said minorities earn less than white people because they don’t work as hard and have less initiative.
“We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that’s tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don’t want to study as hard in school? I’ve taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t study hard because they said the government would take care of them.”
Kern said women earn less than men because “they tend to spend more time at home with their families.”
At least there was one small voice of sanity at the capital.
Rep. Mike Shelton, D-Oklahoma City, said: “This body will quote the Bill of Rights and then talk about Muslims every day. They’ll talk about illegal immigrants every day. They’ll talk about homosexuals.
“Oklahoma is a great state — as long as you fit the profile.”
Unfortunately, critical thinkers appear to be in the minority where the nuttiness comes sweeping down the plane.

What exactly is the problem here that she is in favor end ending affirmative action? Its racist against white people and it needs to end, not only in Oklahoma but all over the country.
Thank god! Its about time we all had level playing field! No one should get preference due to sex, religion or COLOR!

That is so so wrong….That is in England not America!!
As a Somalian once said to me…and I kid you not…’I’m only unemployed because the Eastern Europeans are taking OUR jobs’
‘OUR jobs?’ I queried
‘Yes. OUR jobs’ he insisted
‘Are you English then?’ I asked with a look of innocence
I’ve no idea why he got the hump and walked off….just an innocent question…..
Never shoulda fought that war to keep these states in the union, just should’ve put up a wall.
I had no desire to live there before all this nonsense, now I have even less desire. My sympathies for those Okies who are more liberal minded.
Another state off my bucket list.
Oklahoma is getting as bad as the Deep South!
