White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen: Unemployed Man Walking

My beloved White Sox, despite the 127 million dollar payroll which includes free agent addition Adam Dunn and an extension for Paul Konerko and Alexie Rodriguez, pretty well suck.
I think they even gave manager Ozzie Smith a contract extension even though the White Sox, in my opinion, have been under achieving since they won the World Series in 2005. When they let Aaron Rowand leave as a free agent and replaced him with designated hitter Jim Thome I thought that was the end of Ozzie as a great manager and the Sox as a real team. Ozzie became Earl Weaver. Sit back and wait for a three run homer to win games instead of what won the Sox the World Series. Ozzie’s been a mediocre manager since then.
The White Sox are off to a terrible start this year. Blame pitching or hitting or defense or ownership or the Pope. Something’s gotta be done. Owners and general managers don’t fire themselves. I think before the end of May Ozzie may be out as White Sox manager.
Managers of teams that win can pretty much say and do whatever they want. They get called fiery or quirky. Lou Pinella was fiery when the Cubs made the playoffs. Ozzie was being Ozzie when his team won the World Series. Now he’s just a foul-mouthed pain in the ass. He’s gone.

Incidentally…Coby Jones was, in my humble view, one of the most underrated football players on the planet at his peak….so there!!!…;-)

I noticed you avoided ‘American Football’ (which I also adore but I will deny saying that)…as in The Superbowl Champs declined taking on The British Lions as they couldn’t wear their protective gear for Rugby….

I agree. Ozzie has outlived his usefulness and needs to go. His arrogance offends hell out of me.
