Dog Case Sparks Calls for Tougher Animal Protection Laws

Protect our Dogs from Cruelty

There are some dog stories that must be told, and they all can’t be happy, but can have a happy ending.  This story is about cruelty which can be described as a complete indifference to suffering, and even positive pleasure in inflicting it. If this is supported by a legal or social framework, then it receives the name of perversion. Sadism can also be related to this form of action or concept.

Cruel ways of inflicting suffering may involve violence, but affirmative violence is not necessary for an act to be cruel. For example, if a person is drowning and begging for help, and another person is able to help, but merely watches with disinterest or perhaps mischievous amusement, that person is being cruel — rather than violent. What happened to this innocent dog is an example of cruelty:

Man’s best friend just found out how cruel man can be. A female dog was found bound and whimpering with gunshot wounds to her head, and buried up to her muzzle in Malta. Incredibly [the rescuers nicknamed her Star] is recovering in an animal shelter while cops seek the animal abusers who attacked her, reports the the Times of Malta. The savagery of her treatment is sparking calls for harsher penalties for animal cruelty in a nation where the most serious punishment is a year in jail. Star’s legs and muzzle were tied, and vets dug some 40 shotgun pellets from her head.

Outraged activists have launched several Facebook pages to fight animal cruelty and pay for Star’s care. Several people from Europe to the US have offered to take the animal, but Star still faces a long recovery. “We have another 110 dogs that also went through bad experiences and need a home. Maybe people can help them,” said a spokeswoman for the Malta Animal Welfare Department.

Please take the time to comment on what happened to this poor, but lucky, dog.

PLEASE SIGN PETITIONS. THEY DO WORK. VOTE FOR STRONGER LAWS AND HARSHER PENALTIES. THESE CRIMINALS LIVE AMONG US. THEY PROCREATE. THEY TEACH OTHERS THAT IT IS OKAY TO ABUSE ANIMALS. IT IS NOT OKAY. IT HAS TO STOP. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING WRONG, REPORT IT. BE THE VOICE THAT NEEDS TO BE HEARD. SPEAK UP FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T. BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN THIS WORLD. thank you.

This is heartbreaking. The monster who did this belongs in jail for a long long time.

I am constantly amazed by the depths of human depravity to each other and other creatures. One really must ask, Were you born without a soul? Were you so mistreated in your youth? What exactly happened to turn you into a monster? What made you unfeeling, uncompassionate, unsympathetic, cruel, vicious and stupid? And finally, if your life is so empty that the only pleasure you can feel is by inflicting pain, perhaps you need to eat a bullet yourself.

What sadistic simpleton would do this to a perfectly healthy dog?! Even if it weren’t healthy, give a creature respect! It must have been some total good-for-nothing loser, most probably illiterate too. My guess is this person’s into dog fights and couldn’t care less about one life lost. Probably a church-goer too, since he’s from Malta. Can you imagine what this man does to his own wife and kids? He must be a wife-beater. I only hope God lets this person suffer in the afterlife.

Some people are no better than animals. Animals have more of a soul that this sadistic owner ever did. Nothing justifies such a crime. But seriously, is one year in jail the penalty for a crime such as this in Malta? I hear Malta isn’t a country for law enforcement when it comes to animal rights though. Or any other rights for that matter. Hello Malta, tougher laws?!!

So sad that people do that to creatures who can be so unswervingly loyal with just a basic amount of care. I hope the culprit(s) get their comeuppance.

I think whoever did this should have the same thing happen to them, except let’s forget to dig them up. Assholes!!!!
