Obama/Romney 2012
One of Rupert Murdoch’s favorite toys, The Wall Street Journal, through his editorial board, gave Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney a real beating yesterday. The WSJ went after him on one of his several weaknesses, RomneyCare, the health care plan he introduced when he was Governor of Massachusetts.
The headline of the piece was called “Obama’s Running Mate” and in it’s conclusion suggested that the only chance Romney has of getting to the White House was on a “Obama/Romney” ticket. Ouch.
For a potential President whose core argument is that he knows how to revive free market economic growth, this amounts to a fatal flaw. Presidents lead by offering a vision for the country rooted in certain principles, not by promising a technocracy that runs on “data.” Mr. Romney’s highest principle seems to be faith in his own expertise.
More immediately for his Republican candidacy, the debate over ObamaCare and the larger entitlement state may be the central question of the 2012 election. On that question, Mr. Romney is compromised and not credible. If he does not change his message, he might as well try to knock off Joe Biden and get on the Obama ticket.
If Rupert Murdoch doesn’t endorse your candidacy Governor, you might as well quit.
Stranger things have happened, but I can’t think of one right now

What Romney has going for him and a big reason I think he’ll get the nomination is he can fund much of his campaign himself. That leaves the republicans able to spend more on Congressional candidates. They know Obama will win in 2012. Probably in a landslide no matter who they run.
We need a strong focus on getting a big majority back in the Senate and regaining House seats. God I wish Howard Dean was back as chairman. He understood the fifty state operation.
Look America. There has to be some semblance of sanity in politics.
Mitt???…WTF is a Mitt???…I think it’s an abbreviation of a glove with no fingers…’mitten’?……Trump (Fart)???…oh gimme a break…
America has to retain some sense of decorum here…you can’t elect a Prez either ‘left’ or ‘right’ with a silly name or you’ll be a laughing stock!!
I couldn’t give a monkey’s who you elect as Prez but for your own sake find someone with a vaguely serious/sensible name eh?
You ‘got away’ with ‘Barack’ cause he’s clearly a decent man…which is a novelty in politics anyway…but Mitt??? That’s not a name it’s a made up word!!!
Great article. There is no way Romney will be able to attack Obama on health care when that same health care was designed on his own model. I won’t even mention the whole Mormon thing.
Hey, Obama Haters! The Republicans are killing each other off and there isn’t even ONE serious Democrat contender against Obama! EPIC FAIL!
Kind of weird. I’d much rather see Romney get wupped, though.
Definitely see him get wupped as a Republican.
