SHE

by Misa Akane

There’s madness in the way your skin touches me today
Just a spark, just a sigh of some silent underlie
That just might help me catch my breath
There’s no end left in sight and it’s getting into night
We’ve been moving for so long, perhaps I’m just not that strong
To hold up your wings when they begin to break

There is more than what you find, and I can’t make up my mind
When you look to my eyes, do you hear the children’s cries?~
Or do you just see your own reflection?
Its not the means to an end, just a correlative trend
She watches me smile, and looks on in sad denial
That there’s place for her in the world at all

Is there more I could say, maybe help her on her way
Is she just a commodity or a lost oddity,
Will she help me find some peace of mind?
Will it diminish what I’ve got if she can help me find a plot?
He whispers to me that what’s meant to be will be
I sigh and tell him I won’t hold my breath

A different she appears, and she taunts me for my fears
While comforting my mind, in way that’s undefined
And unique to her special ways
She’s a mother, she’s a child, she’s both vehement and mild
She’s vicious and benign, her mind starts to decline
With every time she has to make me breath

And the last is just a child, naive always and somewhat blind
No time hate or guiles, just pure happiness and innocent smiles
Who wishes for a better time
If there’s an end, we cannot find it, lost in our near-secret split
Precious artifacts of lives passed, in our own mind, a caste
Always one and an other, always alone with each other.

About Post Author

Misa Akane

Being an unmotivated writer, I spend hours a week in therapy that does me no good, and the rest of it trying to find inspiration, and ending up playing with small prehistoric figurines in a realistic manner or baking several things at three in the morning. The rest of the time I tend to spend trying to find something to do with my life other than that, and end up doing it all again.
