How dog poop can light up your life
Turn dog poop into power
Let’s face it. We have to get away from oil and coal as sources of power, and corn is just too expensive to process. How about trying something new like, well, dog poop power? Read this story from our friends at Newser:
Don’t pooh-pooh the dog poop idea before you hear it out. Officials in a Phoenix suburb are considering a plan that would turn dog waste collected from an area park into an energy source. However unsavory the idea may sound, students from Arizona State University are designing and creating a “dog waste digester” that would turn pet leavings into methane gas that in turn generates power. The proposed project would use the new energy source to run street lamps in Phoenix suburbs at first, and possibly other uses later. (It’s not the first place to try to tap dog-poop power.)
So do you think recycling dog poop is a good idea?
