Japan experiences another earthquake

7.0 magnitude

Possible Tsunamis Expected

MSNBC reported that another major earthquake struck northeastern Japan early Sunday. This triggered a tsunami alert and evacuation of the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant.

Earthquake Destruction in Sendai Japan

The U.S. Geological Service said the quake measured 7.0 magnitude. Japanese measurements put it at 7.1.

The quake’s epicenter was 130 miles east of Sendai, a city hard-hit by the huge quake and tsunami that devastated northeastern Japan in March. The depth was about 20 miles.

Operators of the tsunami-stricken Fukushima nuclear plant evacuated workers after Sunday’s quake, broadcaster on Tokyo’s NHK said.

The same region was hit by a smaller quake on Thursday. That quake registered 5.6 and was nearer to Fukushima but 28 miles deep.

The March 11 quake was magnitude 9.0, triggering a tsunami that destroyed whole towns. More than 22,600 people are dead or missing.

The disasters continue as the people struggle to recover.  What are your thoughts on this latest earthquake to hit Japan?
