Crazy Michele Bachmann will lock employees out of EPA building

Read Time:2 Minute, 14 Second

Although they’re all pretty crazy I suspect Michele Bachmann is the nuttiest of them all as she threatens to lock up the EPA

From Think Progress:

If Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann can’t abolish the Environmental Protection Agency like she promised in June, she may just try to lock employees out of the building.

Speaking at campaign rally in Iowa last week, Bachmann made it clear that she’ll do anything it takes to stamp out environmental protection efforts – even if that means padlocking the front door and switching off the breakers, according to a report from the Des Moines Register:

“I pledge to you I’m not a talker. I’m a doer,” she said…

“And I guarantee you the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) will have doors locked and lights turned off and they will only be about conservation,” she said earlier today at a campaign stop in Cedar Rapids. “It will be a new day and a new sheriff in Washington, D.C.”

Republicans have made anti-EPA statements a major part of their campaigns, with Bachmann making some of the most inflammatory remarks. In June, she famously called for “the mother of all repeal bills” focused on the EPA, which she re-named “the job killing organization of America.”

Republican House leaders are also ratcheting up pressure on EPA regulations. Last week, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton called on President Obama to stop new EPA regulations on mercury and air toxics, calling them a “regulatory train wreck.”

The EPA is a convenient bogey man for Republican leaders when it comes to their messaging on jobs. But what they don’t mention is that new regulations will be phased in over a 3-year period of time, giving most power companies enough time to meet standards. This has nothing to do with today’s economic issues. And over the next five years, the number of jobs created through retrofitting power plants with pollution controls could be in the tens of thousands, with virtually no impact on nation-wide rates, according to EIA projections.

Over the 40-year history of the EPA, there’s simply no evidence of the kind of mass murdering of jobs that politicians claim. In fact, since the agency was created in the early 1970’s, GDP has grown by 200% and common pollutants have dropped by 63%. But the facts don’t seem to matter when it comes to environmental issues this campaign season.

At least Bachmann’s plan to shut off all the lights at the EPA will conserve energy.

Do you think Michele Bachmann is as crazy as she acts and sounds?

In usual half-or-less truth fashion, MB pledges she’s a doer, not a talker. But she, like her Tea bag clique cronies, is a talker. In fact, they are all incessant talkers, a la, “Make the lie big. Make it simple. Say it loudly over and over. Eventually, the people will believe it.” -Adlof Hitler. What they are NOT is thinkers. And hopefully they won’t get to many more chances to ‘do’ us.

There are a lot of fucktard like this moron walking around in public these days. It’s amazing the shit piles that the Amerrykkkin public has been attracted to.
We will either come out the other side smarter and less prone to trust in insane whacked out ignorant jack wads or we will perish.
I think it’s 45-55 leaning toward perish.

A big AMEN to you, oh sagacious one. I hope I made my points clear enough for our pleasant visitor to understand.

First, Speekinda Troof, I agree we should all practice speaking kindly to each other. I have witnessed precious little kindness from the pee party or, for that matter, you. Further, I stand by my assertion, lazersedge: Bachmann=Batshit. I will enumerate my points so you can follow them.

Second, Mike and I have disagreed on more than one occasion. We enjoy civil debate. I see civility nowhere in your comments. I see much hatred and anger, which I consider un-Christian as to the original intent of Christianity. You are ill-informed if you think Mike is a preacher.

Third, I don’t hate you. Hatred is beneath me.

Fourth, Christians are not the only ones who can invoke Jesus’ name. Further, since your bible cautions judge ye not, why are you judging dp1053? Are you saying you never repeat yourself? I can tell that’s not true by reading your comments.

Fifth, what is your problem with Jess? If Jess and I were speaking, and I made a point with which she agreed, she might just nod her head and say uhhhmmm. What is the difference between writing or saying the comment? She appropriately indicated her agreement. Really, you don’t want to mess with Jess. Well, not if you’re smart.

Sixth, why are you invoking the names of Muhammad, King Neptune, or Zeus? After all, you’re not a pagan, right?

Seventh, you need a history lesson. During the Reagan administration, Secretary of the Interior, James Watt, stated that “we don’t have to worry about the environment because the world is coming to an end soon, anyway.” History bears out that a large portion of millennial Christians feel absolved of any responsibility for preserving the earth.

Eighth, you use the term “hyperbole” incorrectly, in that you do not recognize your own statements as extremely hyperbolic. That’s quite troubling.

Ninth, I find it difficult to have a discussion with anyone who cannot spell, punctuate, or write civilly. I suggest a remedial English class so we can understand your comments. Perhaps that’s why you feel that we didn’t address the issues: you need more education in rhetoric. Best of luck to you in that.

Tenth, Wendy is so far from ignorant that she would easily crush you with her profound intellect and brush you off like an arrogant molecule she cannot see. You’d do well not anger her, either. I, however, can think of better uses for the epithet poor, degenerate slob.

Eleventh, you thread degeneracy throughout your diatribes. According to your faith, isn’t the greatest commandment love? Is this how you demonstrate agape? Your diatribes do not seem to indicate that you are very Christ-like.

Twelfth, I have engaged in politics for over 40 years. I cannot understand how someone can assert that I never heard of Bachmann prior to six months ago who doesn’t know me. Those who do, wouldn’t dare.

Thirteenth, you first call me Ol Dorothy then collectively refer to us as disaffected and angry youth. I suppose I am included in that statement. I am long past the point where anyone can refer to me as a youth, although I do appreciate the compliment.

Fourteenth, finally, and most importantly, I can only refer to you in the same manner that Jonathan Swift did when he read Daniel DeFoe’s Robinson Crusoe: a stupid, illiterate scribbler. Defoe raged against Swift his entire life. Dean Swift, obviously the better man, ignored DeFoe and never responded to any of DeFoe’s comments in print.

That written, I will now follow Jonathan Swift’s example.

Holy Christ, what a bunch of haters. And never actually addressing the issues in the post, just using the mere mention of a persons name, religion or political philosphy as a reason to rage. C’mon if you had any real point-counterpoint arguments you’d make them but you all sound like a bunch of disaffected and angry youths running around screaming “F**k this, man” and F**k that, man” and “F**k the man, man”.

Great bunch of thinkers and analysts you are. How absolutely stupid can you be to not understand the comment “doors locked and lights turned off” as exaggerated hyperbole?

Ol’ Dorothy sets herself up as a Bachmann expert and comments that “Bachmann’s lights have been shut off her entire life” when she probably hadn’t even heard her name more than 6 months ago.

Being that dp1053 brilliantly and concisely comments that “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again” it lets us know he/she/it just rehashes his/her/its same old commentary no matter the subject on which he/she/it is commenting.

Wendy is the worst kind of psuedo-Christian, invoking Jesus to come and smite those with whom she doesn’t agree although she’s right about one thing – she is a poor, degenerate slob.

And finally, Jesse – who puts all the arguments together cohesively with a single “uhhhmmm, what she said….”

You accusing someone else of hyperbole is a little like the kettle calling the pot black. The piece you read is a repost of an article from Think Progress which you would have noticed if you read the first sentence. Why are you so damn angry? There’s therapy for that.

Oh, dull minded one – I was noting that the original article was quoting Bachmann speaking in hyperbole and my commentary was solely about the subsequent commentors inability to distinguish between the literal and hyperbole. Read before you rage.

Greetings, ST!

When did I ever identify myself as a “Christian?” Technically I *am,* given my family background and the fact that I’m not an atheist, but I consider myself open to a broader range of ideas (including–gasp!–science) than those set forth in the Gospels.

While some of us don’t understand hyperbole, some other folks evidently don’t recognize sarcasm when they read it: I was suggesting that Bachmann is herself one of those “Christians” whose millenial beliefs give them the notion that they are absolved of any responsibility for preserving the earth.

Sorry…must be that time of the month.

When did you identify yourself as a Christian? When you chose to use Jesus as your “judge, jury and executioner of choice” rather than say Muhammed or King Neptune or Zeus for that matter. Don’t try to get out from under this now that you’ve been exposed. And you’re an ignorant Christian at that – the rapture is the opposite of what you use it for in your rant – those that get “scooped up” are those that will be saved and those left on earth will be left to suffer.

Even the two responses to my post are just more hate and rage without addressing the points I made, whether or not the points I made were right or wrong. And if you don’t understand hyperbole, which in and of itself is neither a crime or sin BTW, then why did you see fit to attempt to blast me when you didn’t understand what was even being stated? Right – you just wanted to lash out on this forum against anyone that didn’t agree with your point.

I notice that there’s a lot of one-sided thinking here in MM’sA – “Don’t ya’ll come ’round here with your different viewpoints, we like things just like they are where everyone agrees with what we say and we bow down to Michael John Scott and all he preaches and we do so without critical thought and without reservation.”

Here’s your quote below – why don’t you point out for all of us where you mention that “Bachmann is herself one of those “Christians” whose millenial beliefs give them the notion that they are absolved of any responsibility for preserving the earth”, maybe if you mentioned that in your commentary people wouldn’t have to rely on their mind reading skills to figure out what it was you had to say.

OP- “People like Bachmann don’t have to worry about the destruction they’ll wreak: Jesus will scoop her up during the Rapture and leave this smoldering asteroid to the rest of us poor, degenerate slobs”.

Hatred, anger and condescention flow from every judgemental line of yours I have ever read. Is that what you concider ‘speaking the truth…oops, ‘troof’…in love, as instructed by the Word of the Christ you purport to serve as your Lord, Christian?

Speekinda Troof, your name pretty well speaks for its itself don’t you think? Michele Bachmann has proven herself too be about 60 watts in a 100 watt outlet more than once. To try to discuss one of her rants in terms of hyperbole or literal is like trying to determine if one is talking in pig Latin or Chinese. Neither one is intelligible unless you actually understand that particular language. I speak, write, and therefore understand English, both that of the American and British style and most of its derivatives. I listened to the aforementioned candidates bull crap long enough to know that if she she were elected president she would LITERALLY, for publicity sake, go to the EPA offices, or at least a branch thereof, and put a chain and lock on their doors.
Now, if you don’t understand that you are truly in the wrong place. TURN THE PAGE. MIKE, you took my last comment down. Do it again and I am out of here.

I for one, sometimes wish Jesus and the rapture were real so we could be rid of idiots like this. Sadly, we are stuck with them on this little blue ball we call home. Till we figure out a way to silence them that is.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Reps will not be happy until they turn this whole planet into one giant stinking cesspit. Being the turds that they are, they should do just fine in that environment.

Bachmann’s lights have been shut off her entire life. Here’s America’s new three-party system: The Democrats, Republicans, and the pee party.

Just when I thought I couldn’t loathe anyone more than the coultergeist, along comes batshit bachmann.

Dorothy! How unlady like of you using such a phrase like batshit. That is something that old curmudgeons like me use. You know it isn’t nice to pick on the mentally challenged like that. Michele’s lights are on, there just isn’t anyone home and hasn’t been in a long, long time if ever. She really should be returned to her institution because she really is a danger to herself and others. 🙂 🙂
