Jane Fonda: Testosterone made me feel sexy
Jane Fonda: I discovered testosterone about three years ago, which makes a huge difference if you want to remain sexual and your libido has dropped
Although a talented actress Jane Fonda has never been one of my favorite people, not necessarily because of her political stance during the Vietnam era, or the fact that she consorted with the enemy, but because she is just not a very nice person. I’ve seen her interviewed a number of times and she mostly seems unhappy.
So, when I came across this little gem, I thought perhaps it was worthy of sharing. After all, if testosterone can make Hanoi Jane happy, why not go for it.
NOT Jane Fonda but what if?
Here’s the little Newser summary:
Jane Fonda has a confession to make: Testosterone has fueled her intense septuagenarian libido. “I discovered testosterone about three years ago, which makes a huge difference if you want to remain sexual and your libido has dropped,” she tells the Telegraph. “Use testosterone. It comes in a gel, a pill, or a patch.” But she admits she had to stop because testosterone treatments were giving her acne.
The Oscar-winning actor and 1960s sex symbol, who says a healthy sex drive kept her looking good, devoted about 50 pages of her new book, Prime Time, to sex advice for older couples. But she hasn’t admitted to testosterone until now. Testosterone treatments have sparked controversy in the US, where critics say drug companies profit by turning psychological or relationship issues into medical treatments.
Do you think Jane’s experience will have you rushing to your doctor for a script for testosterone?

I’m afraid I can’t quite grasp the connection between Fonda’s recommendation of T treatments and her qualification as a “nice person.” Could it be the association of testosterone with (male) aggressiveness?
I have to confess that, as the unreconstructed daughter of antiwar activists, I have always admired “Hanoi Jane” for her stance on Vietnam, as well as her articulate and self-possessed demeanor in interviews. Whether I would like her as a person remains a mystery, since I’ve never met her.
Wendy, their a lot of folks these days who simply can’t admit that she was right about us not having any business in Vietnam much less fighting the North Vietnamese. During the war it took a tremendous amount of courage on here part to take the stand she did. I lost many friends to that stupid, stupid war just as there will be people today who will lose many friends to the stupidity of the Iraq war.
I think that’s a Jane Fonda face photoshopped onto Corey Everson’s physique. Actually, I wish all my years of working out had helped me attain similar results… alas…
It’s true, though. Women lose testosterone as they age, which diminishes their libido, and should get their levels testicled… I mean tested…
Dorothy, we men have the same problem. It also effects our energy levels and stamina. Age has the way of bitch slappin’ everyone.
Consider me bitch slapped… and in good company…
I guess it depends Mike. Most doctors are recommending T treatments for men of certain age since it aids in in maintaining energy, assists in ability to maintain muscle, and assists in maintaining sexual ability. Further research indicates that it also has an overall effect on perception of health in advanced years of life. Since women also have testosterone as part of their normal make up it may stand to reason it may do the same for them. Your photo of the body building woman hardly fits the picture of Jane Fonda these days in her work out tapes since it is not her. You caption naming that person as her may well be slanderous.
Bill I really doubt that anyone will take that picture as gospel. It is tongue in cheek and I suspect that is the way it will be viewed and interpreted. If not, that is why we have a lawyer. As to the T., I have mine checked every year during my physical and it is well within normal limits. Should it fall however, I would not for a minute be reluctant to try testosterone. To each his own I say.
lol Just saying Mike. After the latest brouhaha over the journalistic wherewithal I just thought I would mention it. 🙂
