Rams to win NFC West
St. Louis Rams will dominate NFC West
Being close to St. Louis the NFL has decided that I must be forced to watch Rams games. That was a good deal when Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk were taking the Rams to Super Bowls, but since then they’ve sucked. But last year was different. Once again the St. Louis Rams showed promise.
Sam Bradford looks to be a stud quarterback. Running back Steven Jackson has plenty of good football left in him. The defense with Lauranitis and Long looks ready to take control. Yet, the pundits are picking Arizona because they just got former Eagle backup Kevin Kolb.
I find this reason for picking Arizona insane. Eagles coach Andy Reid is about as good a coach as you’ll find. He knew when Donovan McNabb was done and got rid of him. He knows Kevin Kolb isn’t the answer so he got Michael Vick. Now the Eagles have Vince Young as Vick’s backup. Not a ringing endorsement of Kevin Kolb’s ability to quarterback an NFL team. Even with Arizona’s great wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to throw to.
I don’t look for the Rams to have any troubles with the 49ers or Seahawks either. Both teams are motivated by losing all they can so they have a shot at drafting Andrew Luck next year. Winning isn’t in their long-term interests.
More on Rams running back Steven Jackson
Despite all the struggles the Rams have had over the last few years, running back Steven Jackson has been as productive as any back in the NFL, and in my opinion is highly underrated. This guy ran for 1,469 yards, with the almost no passing game and opposing teams knowing he was getting the ball. I can’t imagine the numbers this guy would put up on a good football team. Maybe this is the year.
So there you have it. My first NFL prediction for the 2011/12 season. St. Louis Rams win the NFC West. Put it in the bank.
Ten years ago the Rams were called “The Greatest Show on Turf” and won many fans nationwide, could those days be coming back?
St. Louisan, so GO RAMS!! I hope you’re right, Joe.
I agree Joe, the Rams should win their Division, but after that, I don’t know, they need a year or two more to develop before they set the world on fire again.
That is true Big Harry.
IF Bradford can find himself a couple reliable targets, Steven Jackson should get 2,000 yards this season.
I watched a lot of Bradford when he was under center at OU. The guy has never been anything but great. If he has a good supporting cast around him in St. Louis, they will be very good indeed.
