I always thought Miami International was the worst airport ever, but apparently I was wrong
I have flown all over the country, and over the oceans, at least a couple of them. I have wandered in and out of airports, and until I found the hotel lounge in the Miami airport I thought it was the worst in America. I was wrong it seems.
Here is the story of the worst airport ever:
If you need to get somewhere on time, try not to fly through Newark. The Newark International Airport “has been the worst of the worst,” the Wall Street Journal reports, with a whopping 40 of America’s 100 most-delayed flights taking off or landing there, according to data compiled by the Bureau of Transportation. That includes the top-two most-delayed flights, both of which are Delta flights to Atlanta that depart around rush hour.
“It’s a systematic issue with Newark in the afternoon and evening,” says Delta’s managing director, saying it’s suffering from problems once confined to JFK and La Guardia in New York. United Airlines, which handles about 75% of Newark’s traffic through Continental Airlines, agrees, saying the data “reinforces the need to … modernize the nation’s antiquated air traffic control system.” Incidentally, this isn’t the first time Newark’s been declared America’s worst airport.
