Ron Paul takes a shot at

ex-democrat Rick Perry for being

‘Al Gore’s Texas Cheerleader’

In his latest campaign ad, Texas Congressman Ron Paul attacks fellow Texan, Governor Rick Perry, citing his role in Al Gore’s bid for the White House over 20 years ago.

Paul’s ad depicts Perry as “Al Gore’s Texas cheerleader,” recalling that Perry, then a Democratic legislator, was part of Gore’s 1988 presidential campaign. Perry later said he mistakenly thought Gore was a conservative and cited the experience as a factor in his decision to switch parties in 1989.

The ad highlights the potential of a face-to-face confrontation between the Texans when the eight Republican candidates gather for a nationally televised debate at the Reagan library in Simi Valley, California. The debate, which will be broadcast live on MSNBC, begins at 7 p.m.

Ron Paul still trailing in polls

Two polls released Tuesday show Perry maintaining his double-digit advantage over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, the former front-runner, with Paul in third.

Perry had 38 percent, compared with 23 percent for Romney, in an NBC- Wall Street Journal poll. Paul had 9 percent, a point ahead of Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann. A Politico-George Washington University-Battleground poll showed Perry with 36 percent, Romney with 17 percent, and Paul and Bachmann with 10 percent.

Oooh, kitty got claws doesn’t he? Really Paul, REALLY you are going with Ronald Reagan of the “trickle down” meme. Who to trust, America’s cheerleader or the guy that stood with St Ronnie. Um, none of the above. We just got rid of a cheerleader for 8 yrs of hell, no need to rush in and do it again.

I agree Jess, is that the best Ron Paul can do? Call Perry a ‘cheerleader’. Perry will grab him up and spit him out in lumps.
