Escaped animals gunned down by police
Schools in Zanesville, Ohio, won’t have school today because of escaped lions and tigers, as well as bears and others.
African lion shot and killed near farm in Ohio
Dozens of exotic animals, including big cats, bears, wolves, camels, and giraffes, have escaped from a local animal sanctuary, and 25 have already been shot dead by local police officers, CBS reports. After some of the animals were seen along a nearby highway, police arrived at the farm to find the owner dead, and the animals’ cages open. “These are wild animals that you would see on TV in Africa,” said the local sheriff.
The sheriff, who hasn’t disclosed how the sanctuary’s owner died, says his men had to shoot some aggressive animals on the scene. Police are patrolling the area in cars, wary of big cats that might be hiding in the trees. “Any kind of cat species or bear species is what we are concerned about,” explained the sheriff. “We don’t know how much of a head start these animals have on us.” Area residents have been urged to stay inside and schools have been told not to open.

“Mice Ate the Marijuana” Cops Claim Mice Ate Half a Ton of Pot
“The mice ate the marijuana” was an excuse no more believable than “the dog ate my homework” for authorities in Argentina, where eight police officers have been fired over the disappearance of around 1,200 pounds of pot.
sadly they had to kill the animals.what was really sad is the the owner(Jackass) turned them loose in the first place than killed himself.
I know they had to do it Mike, but it still makes me sad. I agree about the jackass owner.
This is really sad. Anytime I hate to hear about these animals being killed and I do wonder why the Ohio conversation authorities were not called in to help. On the other hand they may have been perceived as presenting an immediate public danger.
Jack Hannah himself was there and said it had to be done because they escaped at night which made the danger more immediate.
I’m tempted to say “why couldn’t they just tranquilize them?” but I’m a bit fearful that I’ll sound too much like the people who ask why police can’t just “shoot suspects in the foot” instead of center of mass. A sad story all around.
This has fucked up my day Mike. Thanks. Did they really have to shoot them?
